Some of you make me wonder if you know what kinda shit is available on the internet... lol
Speaking of caddy shack I saw the movie last night “worthless and futile gesture” the story of the two guys who after graduating from Harvard found National Lampoon magazine and of course went on to make animal house And caddy shack. Very interesting, funny, and tragically sad. Caddy shack was a bomb at the theatres and got crappy reviews. (The entire cast and crew were doing mtns of coke during the filming) This sent one of the creators on a downward spiral that ended with his suicide. After his death of course it became a classic. They had a animal house-esque food fight at his funeral which is cool.
Damn that is sad.
Most artistic people will never put out any of their work because of that exact possibility. I can't imagine what it must have been like to put in that much work only to have the public shit on your craft. That's a very personal kind of pain, I'm not surprised that it pushed him over the edge. Throw in a coke habit that causes your dopamine and serotonin levels to get all fukked up and that is a definitely a recipe for disaster.
I watched that movie also, thought it was really good. I thought a lot of the cast captured the spirit of the original comedians very well. Will Forte is a very underrated comedian and actor imo; I thought he played Kenney really well.
