This is a youtube video courtesy of Pilotseye.tv which shows the view and action in the cockpit of a landing of the super jumbo Airbus A3980 in san Fran. At the controls is legendary Lufthansa chief pilot Juergen (JR) Raps. He was the chef pilot for over 40 years and one of the very few pilots in the world certified to fly these massive airplanes. This was his last trip to the US and he retired upon the t return flight this plane made to Germany.

Note how little actual "flying" is done. These modern planes are mostly "fly by wire"and computers are doing most of the work, with the pilots entering and changing data

This is a really cool video channel and is available on youtube

A couple of summers ago I was working at this top secret part of Fort Campbell. We had to be escorted to each part of the work area, couldn't take pictures, had big time federal people visit from time to time, and things like that. Money was killer though. A little bit away from us is where they would practice taking off and landing these massive army transport airplanes. It was pretty awesome to see these things take off.
