...and I'm still sick to my stomach for JWit, so that's all I'm gonna say about that part.

- OK... I'm gonna vent out some stuff right here: I watched a good bit of ball today, including the SEC tourney, and even before we took the floor I was already thoroughly disgusted at ESPN's constant anti-UNC drum-beating --- and I'm talking all f***ing day, including showing every UNC lowlight they could dig up. It is, and has continually been, thoroughly unprofessional and a disservice to viewers. So, to every damn one of you has-been jabronies at that joke of a network --- and that includes Bilas, Dykes, Crean, and the lot --- GFYs... and I mean that both figuratively and literally.

- On that note, it's pretty damned sad when you can't see replays of great plays (or godawful calls) because BSPN has to get in their (seemingly obligatory) Cooper Flagg bench shots at every damn opportunity. And do NOT try to hand me that bullsh** about Flagg being out. Truth be known, dook is more efficient without him (and their numbers show it, BTW) --- they are loaded with depth and TBH they move the ball better, so yeah... take that nonsense and flush it.

- OK, with that (sort of) outta the way, let me start with some critiques on our end:
First, good grief, we could not hit the broad side of a barn from 3. And I'm talking WIDE OPEN looks (but of course the ESPN narrative will be dook's "smothering defense"), not to mention the missed FTs (although I'm sure their defense will somehow get credit for that as well )
Second, to our staff, when we're in 20 vs dook, we can't afford to let RJ or Ian get stuck on Knipple. Also, when you brought Eliot back in the 1st half with 2 fouls, why not go Zone? It discombobulated them last time and it protects your most important player, and I'll flat guarantee you they wouldn't have gone on that run in the last 4 minutes that put us down 21.
Third, WTH was Frederick doing drawing up the last play --- Lebo is the X-and-O guy --- and you know they're gonna up/down switch there, so why not start with an inversion and get RJ popping up on the backside?
And fourth, we KNOW they're gonna run that curl/roll lob action after dead balls. VAL, you gotta anticipate and get your ass into their Big's knees ahead of the pass.

- With that said, to Mr. Lubin, you played like a grown-ass man vs their size. And in fact, we came back by ATTACKING them in the paint, and/or hitting the offensive glass, so don't feel bad about the FT miss.

- This was a high-character vintage Dean Smith comeback, and we're talking from 24 down in 16 minutes.

- On that note, you don't back down to bullies. Make no mistake, this dook bunch is every bit as dirty as the Rat's worst, but they don't react well to having the ball shoved down their throats --- and that's what we did in the comeback. Some of those finishes by Seth and Drake were epic. And perhaps thanks to the zebra crew getting well-deserved dressing-downs from Hubert (and our players), we finally got the and-1 calls (the AWFUL goaltending overturn notwithstanding). With that said, the one foul I wish they wouldn't have called was the last one, as little RJ had the tip-in for the lead, wouldn't ya know...:(

- On that note though, let's call it straight: The zebras changed the game early. EC might --- and I reiterate MIGHT --- have actually committed one of those "fouls". So don't anybody dare come on here and blame him for that crap --- he got f***ed over worse than Ned Beatty on a canoe trip --- and yes, it changed the game. Just for an example, before his 4th "foul", Evans pushed him with both hands (right in front of the ref), and then Knipple did the exact same thing --- but nothing called -- but when Eliot then beats Knipple to the spot to cut off a drive, he gets whistled for a phantom foul. Unreal.

- And speaking of that, here's WHY it changed the game: As I posted last time (and whoever (probably a dookie troll) reacted with a "ha-ha" emoji to that can suck balls), dook doesn't have a PG, and there is literally nobody on that roster who can guard Eliot. As you saw tonight, he could get anywhere he wants anytime he wants and he carved their asses up. But with him out, they could just blitz RJ and the offense stalled unless RJ could pull off a circus shot (which he did a couple of times).

- Finally, for anyone who still doesn't understand why EC is the necessary lynchpin of this team, both now and going forward, I don't know what else to tell ya. I mean sure, despite the zebra-f***ing tonight, 15 pts, 6 dimes, a couple of steals, a blocked 3, a blocked lob and a forced TO on Knipple down the stretch, but... it shouldn't take that to see what should be the obvious, TBH.

Anyway, I'm gonna close this one in no uncertain terms. I've watched a LOT of college hoops this season --- including the SEC up close on several occasions --- and if UNC gets left out of the Dance, they might as well just start doing random drawings out of a damn hat. As I said before, this team has closed strong and can beat anybody, and I'd really like to see Hubert and our PTBs, as well as our fans and media types, stop twith he hang-dogging and be more outspoken about it. I said it and I stand by it --- we should be in the NCAAT this time next week...

Thanks for the analysis gary-7.

Honestly, and l mean it- Elliot gets more phantom foul calls than any player in argyle l have ever
seen since l walked on campus as a freshman in 1973.
Bumps, tricky-tacks, touches, DIDN’T EVEN TOUCH HIM, not giving a shooter a place to land, you
name it.
And it affects out team’s performance drastically because that dude CAN get to the rim and isn’t
afraid to try. He involves his teammates and sets them up for scores.
He makes errors and is far from perfect, but he has been abused by the stripes all season.
IMO, we win last night if the whistles don’t find him and bench him.
Watch the replays on these “fouls”. So often, zero or minimal contact by Elliot. While meanwhile,
Knueppel has mastered the art of pushing off to create space.

I hope our name is called on Sunday. A game or two (or more) to put this loss behind them is
what these players deserve.
