In the first game Carolina got torched by Griffin who ended up with 27 points as Manek just did not have the foot speed to slow him down but on Saturday night Coach Davis after watching Banchero score three straight times on Leaky decided to let Manek a little bigger than Black but on him and put Leaky on Griffin.
Great decision as Banchero would still score a team high 23 but with a bigger Manek it would take the prize freshman 26 shots to get those points.
Black would blanket Griffin for the rest of the game as the prized rookie would only be able to get off 5 shots for the entire game and finish with just 5 points. Griffin who was all smiles after his big game at the Dean Dome did not score in the second half and he probably had nightmares of seeing Leaky during a sleepless night back in his he dorm.
For those who for some reason still wonder why Black starts and gets so much time I rest my case…
