Good read. It only reinforces my assessment that Bateman is the type DC who could be the next 1st rate HC to come from DC ranks.

If that is the case, then I hope we can keep him.

He definitely talks the talk. Mack and all these coaches talk the talk... which is a nice first step.
 
i'm still curious what happened with Greg Robinson. As impressive as Batemen seems, i'd like to know more about the guy who some say Mack went to first.
 
Couldn’t care less about Robinson, just glad he’s not at UNC in place of Bateman. Bateman is getting back to basics, shedding blocks and tackling. Both are largely predicated on proper technique and superior strength, two things this staff is stressing.

Poor tackling is my pet peeve in football. I expect to see our tackling much improved this year.

He was good when younger, but he was an out of date, seemingly very tired dud when he last coached.

Fighting off blockers and tackling with proper form go a very long way toward building a great D.
