Because Trae Young is the best player in college basketball.

After his 26 & 22 performance tonight - tying the NCAA record for assists in a game - Young leads all of D1 in both scoring and assists. Unreal.

So pln, where do you think he will be drafted?

On one hand, he isn't much of a physical specimen. On the other hand, if you think he's another Steph, you pick him #1.

Right now, in the 5-10 range. I'd take him #5 without second thought, but I'm not really high on Bamba or Miles Bridges. If he keeps playing at this level, he might break into the top-4, and once he cracks into that group (which doesn't have a clear #1), he has a shot at going #1 overall.

You think so? I feel like Ayton, Bagley and Doncic are sitting comfortable in the 1-3 range (no specific order). You might be right though, a PG needy team might pick between him and Sexton.

Yeah Young is playing some great ball right now, and I think it's caught a lot of people off guard. He will certainly be contending for some of those national awards. Will depend somewhat on team success as those things often do (whether or not they should is another issue), but he's playing great.

I think the top-4 could go in any order at this point (MPJ is probably #2 for me, behind Doncic). So if young can crack into the group, he has a shot at #1. I doubt he cracks into that group, but he has a shot.

Depends on who get the pick. Guards can change a franchise around quicker than a big man imo. It's either him or Collin Sexton for the first guard off the board. Collin plays better defense.
