Folks I went to the Grizz and Warriors game with my son last night. The exact same game was played there as it was today at UNC. Grizz could do NO wrong. Ws didn't even know the color of the ball they shot soooooo bad. Point... we won! Not pretty, without our leader, and couldn't hit the side of a barn. And I mean a big barn. Look at the stats. We shot it bad. It's gonna happen. Roll on

That's the positive takeaway from a potential disaster game. Our best player couldn't shoot himself in the foot with three tries and our most important player was hurt! We ran into a team where at least two of their peeps had career games. Barnes is extremely familiar with our system. Meeks and Hicks both were sleepwalking for long periods. And we turned the ball over at a record clip. AND we won!

Special seasons are built on stretches like this: Bradleys can find their second wind; 7ths can rediscover athleticism; BRobs can figure a little something out; Mayes can find a way to contribute; KWs can find a defensive superpower; Stillmans can steady the helm AND BOOM! A Big Nasty Dog can reappear!

Great job Roy and team!

TPF, well said, and I too love looking at the positives when we clearly just didn't hit our shots. BTW I just looked at the stats and we only had 10 TOs. Probably missed a few more but lol that just reiterates how bad our shooting was. Fact about the game buddy....We won!

Admittedly, I was late to the Party today . . when I switched the game on we were down 28-14. Not something you wanna see if you're a 19.5 point favorite . .

It was a good comeback today . .

Don't think Roy was out coached as much as he was down his starting pg and still trying out all these crazy lineup options. Someone said It the other day, like it or not this is what Roy does and to his credit he usually has his teams playing there best ball come March

Yup. And like I said on Gary's stats thread, in the previous 4-5 years the Heels would have dropped at least one of the last two games.

I thought I watched the game carefully, but clearly I missed Barnes genius. He is extremely familiar with our offensive and defensive schemes and plays bully ball. He must have stopped making the genius moves during our two great comebacks.

Our team showed true grit if not much skill in that game and Roy pulled all the right stings to gut out a win when we couldn't even muster our C game. I'm proud of our boys and our coach and I still hate Barnes!

Yeah, that dern Roy has got to start shooting better.

True Mike. Not to forget this either - Tenn. was RED HOT! They were making shots whether closely guarded or not. Barnes had ZERO to do with how well they were shooting. Sometimes teams just shoot lights out. We have had a few days like that, but not nearly as many as I wish!
