It seems like Major League Baseball has been under attack over the past few years, but even more so recently. Popular topics that come up include the age of the fan base, pace of play / length of games, lack of true superstars, etc.
While I would agree that these issues exist, I still love the sport. I don't think it's perfect, but I also don't see it dying off as most people in the media do. Youth participation is actually increasing due to their Play Ball initiative. And with some rule changes, I think the game will become more enjoyable to watch on TV, which will then help increase its popularity.
The on-field play in both the NFL and NBA look very different now than say 10-20 years ago. I think baseball can have a similar transformation that will help the sport long term.
