Anyone see this video?

Saw it posted on another fan site. Apparently Dwayne Sutton did not want to have to try to score against Manley or something. Hard to tell if this is for sure the reason, but there's not much else that can explain it.

Yep. Saw it the day of.

Despite all the negativity from our own fans from him coming in, he's been solid off the bench and arguably been better than Brooks and Huffman, who were supposed to be better than him.

I can't wait to see what he can do after a year or two of conditioning and practice.

Oh I couldn't be more impressed with his play thus far given the expectations.

Huffman never really got going, and Brooks regressed , So Manley did win this battle to this point..

Sutton right after gives the nod to a teammate like "my man"with the sub. He wasn't looking forward to being the smallball 6'5 defender against him...lol

Sterling: 5.2 PPG, 2.9 RPG, .3 APG
Garrison: 3.0 PPG, 3.0 RPG, .5 APG
Brandon: 1.4 PPG, 1.1 RPG, .5 APG
Andrew: 1.1 PPG, 1.0 RPG, .4 APG
Jalek: .9 PPG, .3 RPG, 1.0 APG
Huff: .6 PPG, .9 RPG, 0.0 APG

Bench Totals: 12.2 PPG, 9.2 RPG, 2.7 APG

If you'd have told me that this is all the production we would get from our bench in ACC play, I'd have told you we were going to be up the proverbial creek without a paddle and I'd have said there's no way we would be averaging 82 PPG, 40 RPG, and 18 APG.

Is this Roy's best coaching job ever, considering all the production and experience we lost and how little we've gotten from our bench? I'd say yes.

It could be argued that Roy's best coaching move/job was preseason, when he pulled the rabbit out of the hat & landed Cam. :D We would have a very different team without him.

Hey Arch just wondering where you got your stats from?

Just wait a year or two and that is gonna be the expression on a lot of opposing player’s faces. The biggest thing with him is strength and conditioning and we have the best in Jonas to get him where he needs to be. I think he will become one heck of a player, he has already shown a willingness to learn and get better, I think that late night session with Vasco really showed his true colors. He has already given us some glimpses of the player he can be and has improved on playing through contact and getting to the line a bit more in turn. He certainly has the tools (soft touch from the line, keeps the ball high on rebounds, fights for positioning- to name some) he just needs to continue working to get himself to maximize those skillets.
I also wouldn't be surprised if he will be a key contributor for us off the bench during the Tourny.

Also, when I saw that video, I instantly thought of this gem!!

Dude, I remember that like it was yesterday. When I saw that pic I said "game over".

That's what I like to call the Psycho T Effect!!

Thinking about Joel and Theo as Seniors and all the great memories they've given us certainly makes me think back to impact that Hans had on UNC over those four years and all those great moments. He couldn't have gone out in a better way than cutting down those nets in Detroit.

From my favorite stat site. The totals are very slightly off because I didn't include stats from the third stringers, just the players mentioned and the starters.

On this site you have a whole menu of options at the top, including all the scores from the most recent night of play. You can research teams or players and past seasons. It also separates out conference play, which are the stats I concentrate on because I feel they are most representative of how we're truly playing against good competition.

Honestly, I don't think he was reacting to Ster coming into the game. Obviously he looked that way and saw him checking in, but I think he was just reacting to a play he had not made. I don't remember if he had just missed a FT or not converted on an AND1 attempt, but would bet it was not about Ster checking in.

Wait till he gets the Hans stare each time he takes the court. He is physically imposing while soft...add 15-20 pounds of muscle and .....Godzilla, Baby!

Wasn't that pic of Hans taken in the tunnel right before we curb stomped their arses?

You dont know why he had that reaction anymore than anyone else here. Only he knows the reason. But since this is a message board and he isn't around, we'll just make stuff up and go with what sounds best. I like the idea that he saw big Manley coming back into the game.

That certainly is a great sign of things to come as Sterling has improved in not only playing through contact and not shying away from drawing fouls, but also being able to convert those opportunities into points as he is 24-29 from the free throw line in ACC play. I remember reading in high school that he went 21-21 from the line in a game, so it's definitely somewhere he is capable of doing some damage at. That's just another reason why it is so important for him to gain more strengthen so he can use it along with his long frame to get better positioning on the low block to set himself up to draw fouls and get to the line to cash in. He's certainly moving in the right direction and I really can't wait to see the player that he is going to be next year. I would love to for him to get some work in with Sheed in the offseason too to get some more aggressiveness.

In how many minutes per game?

If Manley worked out with Bill Walton for about 2 weeks this summer he would be first team ACC next season.

And the power of the thread works once again!! Sterling really showed some nice things tonight, especially in the first half. This is the play the really stood out to me and just makes you think about what is to come from BIG STER!!
