I think most of us, myself included, were some what mystified at the off season that Marcus had shooting the ball. I think I just figured out why?

As you know, Marcus dealt with the Plantar fascitis for basically all of his Jr season and ended the season dealing as well with a couple ankle sprains, one of those was more the high ankle variety.

First off Marcus had to spend a lot of the off season resting the plantar injury as well as the ankle sprains, Marcus was not used to that so having that down time and not being able to play even pick up games may have effected him more than we realized. The groove you play with can easy become a use it or lose it type of deal.

But more importantly, his dealing with the plantar injury forced him to modify the way he jumped on his shooting motion and that very well could have settled in as the new norm for him in what he felt comfortable doing and yet with out the injury to allow the pain to limit his jump his rythem once fully healthy got knocked off stride and it took him a good bit of the regular season to finally get that rythem and confidence back. What I am saying, without realizing it he modified how he was lifting so his being able to correct what he could not realize confused him and he slumped shooting the ball.

I noticed Curry in the NBA playoffs, his shooting is not what it was before he had those couple post season injuries that sat him a string of games, he was used to playing every day and has not got his rythem back yet. Curry only had to sit out a few days, Marcus had several weeks of down time before last season.

I really believe those 2 factors effected him more than even he may have realized! What you guys think?

Any time you have to favor any part of your wheels it can certainly affect the rest of the motion, and it can certainly cause unconscious alterations that are difficult to pick up. That can be true in shooting a basketball, pitching or hitting a baseball, golf swing, etc, etc...

...or it may have just been a slump. After all he came out shooting pretty well when he returned to the lineup. But still, a hitch could have crept in.

The one thing I'm reasonably sure it wasn't was playing the 2...:confused::p
