In case you don't feel like clicking:

"North Carolina junior forward Kennedy Meeks, who has missed the last seven games due to a bruised bone in his left knee, is expected to practice on Wednesday and could return to action as early as Saturday’s game at Syracuse, according to Roy Williams."

Hope his return is slow and measured. No need to rush anything at this point.

As Roy described it, he would do some things Wednesday, move to additional practice Thursday and if okay then practice Friday. Play Saturday.
My guess is he won't see many minutes. The slow and easy route as Al mentions is key. If they rush it each setback becomes a longer treatment. He did go through warm ups last two games...

Yeah, gonna be interesting to see how Roy intergrates Meeks back in to the rotation. I as well really want to see Meeks coming off the bench for a couple games and if Meeks can give us 10mins a game I want to see Hicks start along with Brice. If Roy does not feel good that Meeks can give us a solid 10mins then leave the starting line up as is due to the foul concerns with Brice & Hicks. Meeks stamina has to be a concern right now, he has not been able to run since he has been out so it will take a couple 3 games for his wind to return.

Differently going to be interesting to see. Just bring the Big fellow in slowly since our Bigs are doing so well there's no need to rush him back.

Roy said he expects him to play tomorrow as long as there are no setbacks today.

Also, I can't remember the specific players right now but I do remember that bringing injured players back in the past has had a tendancy to disrupt team chemistry and rhythm a bit. The current rotation appears to play well together .. with some minor exceptions.

So you're saying to sit him out the rest of the year? Or to disrupt the chemistry at a later date when the games are more important?

I don't get this statement at all.

Just saying not to rush him back in the line up .. that's all. In the long run it's probably just as important (if not more) to get Hicks the PT now as to get Meeks back in.

This is a veteran bunch. I don't see a prolonged chemistry issue when Meeks returns. Roy has Meeks as a starter for good reason.
Yep. As much as I love JoEl, and he's one of my favorites, we're better with Kennedy starting. TBS, Coach may very well bring him off the bench initially. We'll see how long it takes for Kennedy to get back into playing form.

Roy wouldn't put him out there if he weren't 100%...he'll play hard around 20 minutes if the game's in hand..if not around 30--he's not going to be limited if we're behind late in the game and he's been in the starting lineup.

I expect closer to 15 minutes myself. If he really is 100%, he still won't be in shape so he would be at risk for another injury if pushed too far. I'm guessing he comes off the bench at the first timeout and then Roy will see how effective he is to decide any further minutes.

After watching the game tonight w/scuse I think alot of the above questions were answered .. and hopefully Meeks will mesh better with more practice time but Brice and Hicks appear to have some really good chemistry. UNC has a very good team this year.
