Meeks shuts up his critics

Meeks played a solid game tonight, we needed it with Hicks in foul trouble all night

I predicted he would have a big game for us. Admittedly he exceeded what I expected. Still missed 4 gimmies under the rim. Room for improvement but proud of him. He stepped up with Hicks showed he still has the lowest basketball IQ on the defensive end of anybody on our team. Great job Meeks!!!

Solid game for Meeks. The effort was there 100%. Did a good job on the boards and from the FT line. However, he still looked very tentative. One time it was very obvious he had a clear path to the basket on the baseline. His defender fell down or something. But Meeks hesitated and when he finally got going toward the basket, I believe, he ended up getting his shot blocked. Hicks would've had a sure dunk there. That said, he had a good game tonight with Hicks's foul-o-rama going on. Quality depth is definitely in our favor this tournament, and I love it!

Glad to see it tonight and if he can build on that it will really help us the rest of the way

Keep it going big fella!! We need you to bring it every game here on out!

The big man has taken a TON of abuse here recently and it was nice to see him contribute on both ends of the court tonight that helped his team win. ...
some of the comments were over the top, but most were valid observations of his poor performance. kennedy played well tonite -- if shutting up the criticism was one of his motives to play better that's great. if you're a college basketball player there are two ways to avoid criticism: play well, or go to a school where people don't give a damm.

I wrote previously he needed a big game for us to get to the FF and 2 IMO to win it all. He was big time. Hope he has another one in him. Also, hopefully Isiah stays out of foul trouble.

We are gonna need that level of play and effort from Meeks moving forward. Get him playing like he was at the beginning of the year and pair that with what Brice and Isaiah have been doing and LOOK OUT!

His abuse was deserved at times. I am glad to see him being able to play to the role the team needs him to.

Yogi is a big time player .....your team is a very good one... we were just a little better tonite

You did, and I agreed. And Kennedy stepped up in the second half, big time. We may need another big game from him. Isaiah REALLY needs to stay out of foul trouble. He's too valuable to be sitting on the bench.

He did really well, all things considered.

I like Meeks because he doesn't seem to get hung up on bad performances. Granted, he might string some together, but he rarely looks shackled by things not going his way.

Even at a steady, no-frills level, he still helps this team out a lot. Hopefully he can continue like this for as long as our train keeps rolling.

Never wrote anything negative about Meeks, but boy have I thought many. I have learned to appreciate Meeks as a big body with a lot of potential. He played well no doubt, but it could have been way better. Next year depends on Meeks. Hicks should shine and maybe we keep JJ (I think we will). We may be really okay, but a lot depends if Meeks can be that aggressive and assertive big man.

Great Job Meeks!!!

I think he had our first 8 points of the 2nd. I am so happy to see him contributing. The young man has a good attitude and I honestly don't think he's 100% back from the injury.
