We all know that Ruder moved up to being a 4* recruit and that he has proven moxey as a winner.

And I said all along that the one thing that Kevin Sumlin is truly god at is knowing QB talent - and Fortin committed to A&M and Sumlin very early, well before the SR season he lost to injury./

And that means that we have 2 true frosh QBs with very good potential. I said before the season started that I wanted to see each play in at least 4 games this year, using the new redshirt rule.

If Elliott is ineffective in this game, I hope Fed will give Ruder some burn. Need to take advantage of the new rule. Everyone knows Elliott isn't starting next year. It would be good to get Ruder some snaps even if it's just garbage time.

This young man appears to have all the tools to be a very good quarterback. I really hope we play him at least four games this year. But I’ve given up hope that Fed will do anything logical.

I just love how fedora acts like being secretive with the info on who the back up at qb is gonna keep the opposing team off guard. He does the same with giving info on injuries. I don’t think giving out the info on either is gonna hurt too bad. I mean how has it worked for you so far? I’m sure we the fans would like a little info on both topics.
Give Jace some PT.

Here is more food for thought on both playing Ruder and giving him a shot (and playing Fortin more if he is able to return from injury) and going after Kelly Bryant: Jack Tuttle is transferring out of Utah.

Tuttle was a high 4* star recruit from southern CA, and seemingly the entire Pac wanted him, as did many other schools. He has not played a down, and he is ready to go.

Fedora screwing over a Trubisky is not going to be happening any more, not with the QB staying 3 years without playing.

Neither Fortin nor Ruder entered college with the package that Trubisky had, but each has far too much potential to be OK with sitting for even 2 years, while a now struggling HC brings in a grad transfer.

For anyone who gets the idea that we should approach Tuttle, I say no, for 2 reasons: 1) he is favorable to Cutcliffe, and 2) we have 2 guys in his class who deserve a real shot, game time action.

If we play Ruder or Fortin most of the game, I think we break through with a 24-21 win today. If Elliot plays the lion's share of the minutes, we lose again. Our offense desperately needs a spark.

I just want to see Ruder get a shot. From what I've gathered he's a hardworking dude. I think he deserves a crack at the starting job
