CHAPEL HILL --- The North Carolina football team's annual "Meet The Heels" day is set for Saturday, Aug. 8, from 4-6 p.m. at the Eddie Smith Field House. The event is free to the public and a variety of campus locations will provide free parking to the general public for the event, with parking also available at the Ramshead Deck for $1.50 per hour.
First-come, first-served, free general public parking will be available in the following campus lots and decks:
• Boshamer Lot
• Raleigh Road Visitors Lot
• Cobb Deck
• Stadium Drive
• School of Government Deck
• Bell Tower Deck
The event will begin with autograph sessions with women's soccer, volleyball and other fall sports teams at 4 p.m., followed by the football team and head coach Larry Fedora from 5-6.
Featured activities include:
• Food trucks including Backyard Bistro and Kona Ice
• Interactive inflatables for kids
• Football tackling dummies, agility step-overs, ladders & mannequins with new uniforms
• Free Carolina football posters and schedule cards
• Balloon twisters and a walk-around magician
• DJ Forge playing all of your favorite music
• Navy Field open to play catch
• Chapel Hill Sportswear store with all the newest Carolina Athletics merchandise
Meet The Heels also serves as the kickoff event for the Carolina Kids Club. The first 200 active Kids Club members will receive a free Chick-fil-A chicken sandwich, bag of chips and a cookie courtesy of Chick-fil-A at University Place in Chapel Hill along with drinks, a drawstring bag and exclusive access to a caricaturist.
