GT play that scares me the most. Imagine this...GT formation to the left is a TE and Wing with a FB behind QB and center. In a 4-3 we would most likely align in a 1 tech to the weakside(shade on the Center)...3 tech to the strongside (shade on the Guard)...our DE would be an outside shade on the TE. The Corner would be outside shade of the Wing about 6yds off the ball. Our Sam would be about 4yds of the ball in the C gap. Our Mike over the Center. The midline comes at you like this. The Center blocks back on the 1 tech...has the alignment and angle advantage....the Guard scoops under the 3 tech and trys to get a piece of the Mike...leaving the 3 tech unblocked...read player. The OT blocks back and goes to ear hole the Mike LBER as well sealing him from the playside. The TE blocks out on the DE...has alignment and angle advantage. Wing goes behind the TE and lead blocks through the C gap to the Sam Lber. QB opens and rides the FB right up the centers butt...or where he was...ie Midline. QB reads the 3 tech...if he closes on the FB as he should he pulls and follows the wing through the hole....if not he gives and most often the FB is in the secondary....very very difficult to stop without changing your front to protect Mike.
