Mike Irby needs our help . Please help him kick cancer to the curb!

Since 2005, our dear friend Mike Irby has served as an unpaid moderator for the UNC Rivals websites. Only recently did we learn that he has been suffering from cancer for most of those years. Now Mikey is unable to work and needs our help to continue cancer treatments. Without his service, the UNC Rivals site would never have thrived as it has under his care. Thinking of this, we’re reminded of the character George Bailey in the classic movie, It’s a Wonderful Life. Like Bailey, Mikey has no idea of all the lives he has touched. What would the UNC site have been like without Mikey as the moderator for the last ten years? We will be extremely grateful if you can donate to help our friend. He’s a great guy.

As you will see from Steats link it's been a battle since 2007 and I just can't keep up with bills coming from Duke. Tried hard for many years but we just can't catch up much less afford the Transplant. Every dime given for it is still there when the time comes. I few years ago I was ranting and raving about PJ Hairston and all the problems he caused for UNC. I was so upset about PJ causing problems for the the University I posted a message that was longer than any that Dsouthr (lol) has ever written. Mikey deleted it . Then I revised it and he deleted it again. I was furious! Thinking back I said some things I never should have said......some things about PJ that I didn't have ANY proof about...just ranting!!! I spent an hour writing that message and it was the closest I ever been to be banned from the site. Well, I didn't follow-up with Mikey and it was a good thing that I didn't follow-up. I cooled off after several days and I looked back at what I had written and realized that if that post had remained on the board I would have lost the little respect I had on the site.

Mike plays no favorites. That's why I respect him so much. Hang strong Mikey. We love ya!
