Sadly shun, no match has been found. Still going to Duke every other week for transfusions, 2 or 3 units is the norm. Clinical trial is being held up by the FDA at this point, has to be released by them.

Thank you very much! This has been almost a 10 year battle now. I'm stuck right now with getting transfusions every other week. 2-3 units depending how low my counts are. They have tried for 2 years to get a bone marrow match but so far no-go. I don't make red blood cells, product of MDS. Brought on by high doses of radiation to stall the original cancer, insular carcinoma. The radiation worked to everyone's surprise but at a cost. But hey, I'm still here fighting every day. This thread is a balm to eyes wearied from the news! It is so good to be reminded about how much love the world still holds!

I know first hand the devastation cancer causes to families and mine is praying for yours!

Hi TPFKAPFS,...SMILE...I tell people all the time that their is just as much GOOD going on in life as bad. Bad just gets notice more. I could tell you some stories from my life in my younger days to let you know that shun1 come from bad to getting better (can't use good yet, because I have a way to go yet) by the GRACE OF GOD.
