I didn't do it. Let me do some checking, I know he had a way to push the wrong buttons on some of the mods. Matter of fact, he could be a jerk at times. Guess we all can.
Of course he could be a jerk. Heck, most of us on OOTB are jerks on political threads- the one in question which got him banned was Dem Debates.
I understand completely and obviously, this is nothing pressing.

I didn't know he got punished. As much as people have said on here in the past that surprises me. I know that one guy threatened him in one of those threads, which was pretty silly considered the way that guy was acting as well. Certain posters get away with more here than other ones with some of the mods. People with the authority to ban should be level headed and fair. I know that isn't always the case though.

Agreed. I was active in the thread in which Billy and the mod went at it. And I didn't see anything that was ban-worthy. I thought Billy showed restraint. It really didn't appear to be anything more than just the normal bickering that goes on here. But I don't know the backstory. Apparently there is one.
That's true but that's human nature. You find favoritism around every corner. And remember, we're talking about a message board here. It's not like Billy was denied a paycheck or something.
As much as I disagree with Billy on political topics, he's like the Mayor of Tar Heel Town. If he's not here, the board loses and I'll most likely post less. But I'm sure Billy's vacation is temporary and I'm sure he'll be back being typical Billy.

Like many who are normally open minded about most things, some people get belligerant when discussing politics. I'm afraid Billy is one. A little time away can be a good thing. Believe me, I have to take a break at times myself.
Seen it here for years, ain't nobody changing anybody elses mind on politics or religion. Argue all you want, neither side will change.

The mod in question was easily as belligerent or more belligerent than Billy was. If Billy deserved a ban, he deserved to lose his status as a moderator.
He's not just belligerent on OOTB. He is/was on Blitz too. Like way over the top

True. Personally, I'm for no bans except for the most extreme situations. I know I've gone further than Billy did in that thread without getting touched
Only people who need to be banned are trolls on the sports boards. Anyone trolls here and we can bat him around like a cheap Mexican pinata.
Derogatory Name calling has been a problem here and the pinned here is enough of a reason for everyone to be more respectful in their debate. Billy L has been guilty of such any times and warned many times. Not defending moderator or BillyL, but folks need to chill in general.
Regardless, his behavior was unacceptable for a mod. Like someone else said, we need mods with a steady temperament, not mods who goad other posters into an ugly exchange.

I was going to say the exact same thing earlier. But being as cool as I am I didn't want to be the first one to look like a suck up.
I don't know what else there could be to the story. I'm not saying there isn't as I completely believe Mike. We basically see everything posted here though. The only thing I could assume would be a private message, which doesn't seem like a big deal. I've had a few people say all kinds of crap to me on a private message. I just ignore it. Regardless, it seemed a tad Machiavellian by the mod involved.
