200 + yards on 3rd…Biggest stat of the game and there is no question is the number of times Carolina was able to convert third downs into first downs
My main concern is not utilizing the TE’s more. Nesbit is the closest receiver we have to a top off receiver.Good win! Solid!
Greene seemed to love his feet a bit too soon, costing a sound chance to make the catch. More poor fundamentals of a Galloway coached WR.
Fleck thinks the heat/humidity did in his Minnesota boys. Maybe, but the fact is that UNC did look stronger than Minnesota in the 4th quarter. And that is a hopeful sign the team has staying power. The Minn passing GM was horrendous aside for a few drives in the third quarter. Our DBs had a few breakups but I couldn't tell if that was on the DBs or passes passes.
Nice to see Maye having a nice thang with Nate M. (And Nesbitt still). Our O is going to be fine, especially if Willie L returns.
It felt like we put them away in the 4th quarter which was nice.
If the heat and humidity is having that big of an impact, we need to get to the Big ASAP. We'll be a top 10 team every year.Fleck thinks the heat/humidity did in his Minnesota boys. One in the win column for S&C.Fleck thinks the heat/humidity did in his Minnesota boys. Maybe, but the fact is that UNC did look stronger than Minnesota in the 4th quarter. And that is a hopeful sign the team has staying power.
And perhaps a sense of grit. They just seemed to feel that if they kept doing what they were supposed to do, they would win. They would tough it out and come out on top.One in the win column for S&C.
The BT would have UNC always face its better northern teams up there during November. They'd send IU, Rutgers, and Northwestern to Chapel Hill in September. If the heat and humidity is having that big of an impact, we need to get to the Big ASAP. We'll be a top 10 team every year.
This team is far from showing as well as it could be, but it is 3-0 with 2 Ws over P2 teams. That is much more promising that being 3-0 last year, when the 3 Ws were a 1AA and 2 G5s.This was a solid strong win against a P5 team that was un defeated coming in to that game. Miss elected to try to stop our run game by dropping a safety in to the box, got him in on a lot of tackles but it opened up Drake's passing. We played this game without Lampkin who was HUGE for our first 2 games, we are starting to get guys back that will really help our secondary. Now if we can just cut down on the yellow laundry on the field this team can get a lot better and it ain't bad right now.
