Apparently, Michael is reaching out to Mitch. Curious, noticed that Mitch has been at some Heels home games.

Most under appreciated GM in the NBA in the last 20 years IMO. Swung the Malone and Payton deals, got Gasol for peanuts, replaced Ariza with Artest and repeated, then swung the Dwight Howard and Steve Nash trades which could have been another repeat if Kobe and Nash didn’t succomb to father time. Cant believe the Lakers fired him. The fact that he lost the most dominant player in the league in Shaq and had the team back in the Finals in just four years is such an underrated accomplishment

Surprised it took as long as it did to run the guy that had been in that position for a while. Seemed like with every first round pick he was taking a stretch four because the one he drafted the previous year didn’t work out like he thought. And for Charlotte to be viable in the post season they have to make their draft picks count as Charlotte isn’t going to attract many free agents in their prime. Mitch is a good call. Surprised the new folks in charge in LA booted him after he was hamstrung with carrying Kobe to the end with that salary cap killing salary of his. Of course Mitch might come as a consultant with Buzz getting bumped up to GM, or maybe co-GM. Michael is going to take care of Buzz no matter what. Just think, if both had gone to Duke, Michael, Mitch, and Buzz could talk about the “brotherhood” at the presser.

On a serious note, I hope MJ doesn't let his friendship with Buzz influence him to the end like at the Wizards. Kupchak is solid as GM, Buzz needs more "training". Don't fill the front office with "buddies" it is a business after all.

Life is often about what you know as much as who you know. If nothing else Michael is loyal to his college roomie. Convinced Michael's connections with NIKE greatly benefited some of the coaching opportunities Buzz got. No if Michael truly thought Buzz could do it there would be no need for Mitch. But even if Buzz never makes the simplest of decisions, he will be in the building as long as Michael is
