Actually I think it's quite the opposite. Every article I read where the VT loss is brought up its noted that it was played in bad weather. The dook loss was 1,000 times worse/more damaging. Good teams don't lose to 3-6(0-5) teams, rivalry or not. That loss was a season killer, no ifs, ands or buts about it.
Regarding the game Friday, I'm much more concerned than I was a few weeks ago. I still think State sucks but we are not playing very good football right now. The dook game was an absolute turd in all aspects, and despite the easy win the offense was pretty lackluster Saturday. The OL just isn't very good and MT had been off the past two games. We are struggling to consistently sustain drives and score TDs in the red zone. If the offense doesn't kick it into gear Friday we could be in big trouble.
