This game is concerning. State needs a win to become bowl eligible (pretty pathetic they would even be allowed to go to a bowl). State has a good D line. Our offense has really not been that good the last 2 games, just not clicking at 100%. And of course this is their super bowl and their coach is fighting for his job (a loss and he is certainly gone). Basically, like duke, they have nothing to lose.

the loss to va tech was equally damaging because it was such a lopsided disaster on our home field. the rest of the country doesn't really buy the hurricane excuse.

Actually I think it's quite the opposite. Every article I read where the VT loss is brought up its noted that it was played in bad weather. The dook loss was 1,000 times worse/more damaging. Good teams don't lose to 3-6(0-5) teams, rivalry or not. That loss was a season killer, no ifs, ands or buts about it.

Regarding the game Friday, I'm much more concerned than I was a few weeks ago. I still think State sucks but we are not playing very good football right now. The dook game was an absolute turd in all aspects, and despite the easy win the offense was pretty lackluster Saturday. The OL just isn't very good and MT had been off the past two games. We are struggling to consistently sustain drives and score TDs in the red zone. If the offense doesn't kick it into gear Friday we could be in big trouble.

I agree, while I hate losing to VT, I can live with that given the weather conditions. Maybe VT beats UNC if it is a nice, maybe not. No chance with a hurricane. Doesn't matter. However, there is absolutely no excuse for getting beat by Duke. They suck and three of their best players are out for the year. Hell, they just got crushed by Pitt this weekend. The players took them too lightly and the playcalling was a joke.
