They say that there is no such thing as bad publicity. The future of the ACC has become sports entertainment fodder for twitterati and YouTube podcasters. And the speculation is heating up.

Can Rhett go back to Scarlett ?

Does Rick stay in Casablanca and watch Lisa fly off to Lisbon with Victor Lazlo ?

Does ESPN really have an out from the ACC Agreement in 2027 ?

Will UNC become unhooked from NC State ?

Big Ten or SEC...is either likely for the Heels ?

ESPN/Disney and Fox with their toadies SEC and BT are determined to leave just 2 Major conferences, which will be set to win all National Championships forever afterwards in both revenue sports. They do not care who wins anything in badminton or or tennis or golf or even lacrosse and soccer. And they want all the money associated with both football and basketball.

Perhaps worst pf all is that huge numbers of fans of each of those league indeed see this al as a game, and they cheer on there teams to destroy everyone else, taking whatever pieces they want.

That is something antithetical to the entire history of intercollegiate athletics. And it marks how perverted the average American has become, Cheering on corporate destruction of very old and esteemed entities is raw barbarism. They might as well be cheering on gladiator games.

College sports needs there to be at least 3 Major conferences. And the Big 12 lacking OU and Texas can never be one. The ACC lacking UNC cannot be one. So I would prefer that the ACC survive with UNC. I do not see that happening unless someone with deep poickets gets involved. And because Disney is bleeding money due to its self-righerous woke crap itneedas an major onvesto0r in ERSON - someone to buy part of what ESPN owns. If Bezos, who wants major college sports for Amazon, would get invloved for the ACC, the league could be saved. He would want the SACC to get enough money to keep all out valuable pieces. AS a smart businessman, he like;ey would say, but you must cut BC and Wake and probably Syracuse. perhaps even Pitt. MaKe the cuts and with my help you then can add huge AAU schools like Utah, Arizona, nd Arizonas State, as well as get deep into TX with the likes of Baylor, TCU, and TTU, maybe Houston. Maybe add Cincinnati and WVU, both of which fit well into the current ACC geography.

I am confident that the 17 team ACC with no changes cannot last for longer than about 2030.

Its now looks more and more like what ESPn/Disney and the Sec have been doing is agitating FSU an Clemson to cause tribe for the ACC so that they can spook UNC and then add UNC. And now that FSU especially has come off looking like an untrustworthy league member it may have 0 chance for for a BT offer (no AAU being part of that) and little more chance of getting an SWEC offer. Hence we have much talk of FSU going Big 1 if gets out of the ACC.

Talk about stupid: FSU wanting to be peers with UCF in a league centered in Plains states. So all this may wake up ESPN to redo the ACC contract to keep all valuable ACC members in house (ESPN has roughly half the Big 12, with Fox also having half).

I still would figured a way to cut ties with BC and Wake, and maybe Syracuse. Then go to 18 or even 20 with schools like Utah, Arizona, Arizona St, Cincy, WVU, TCU, Baylor, TTU. Make it impossible for any other league to ever challenge the Acc for #3 in TV numbers and revenue.

Picked this up off of Reddit...

The UNC hubris, which always is centered on that dmaned basketball, is that UNC football certainly carries its weight in a league never meant to be the SEC nor Abel to be the SEC. So every tidy just needs to stop talking about how UNC football must improve.

As I have always said, the ACC will always be held back and down by UNC as long as UNC is not acting all the time to make its football as big as it can be. That wins not just winning ACC championships and winning major games against major teams in the post-season, but also working to push UNC football to the media. None of that is done. They are content with endless mediocrity. They do not want 3-9 teams, but they also are not going to do what it takes to start winning Big.

General but passionate fans of CFB, meaning those who love the sort and watch more than just 'their' team, tend not to care to watch teams that they sense are led by those happy with mediocrity. So they make no effort to watch UNC football.
