Sorry for the 50th thread, but I wanted to post this to get this loss off my chest and move the eff on. I had a great time hanging out with Raising Heel, UNC71 and the Washington State guy (Can’t remember his name). The comradery before and during the game was nothing short of awesome. It was also great being at the game and meeting TarHellNation11. I enjoy nothing more that meeting new Tar Heel fans that have the same passion that I have.
The game!!! I had zero doubt that we would win. I am still in shock that we found a way to give it away, but that is exactly what we did. We gave that old crotchety crook of a coach a gift. It sucks to lose, but it sucks extra bad when you know that we have the better team and gave away the win. I may have said that we got out coached to a couple of people after the game, but that is one of those “not thinking” moments. We were not outcoached at all. We plan and simple did not capitalize on our main strength in the Red Zone. I do not care who calls the plays, but the last drive there is no way that you do not run your bull aka BEAST MODE. You can agree/disagree with me. I do not care one way or the other. That one drive did NOT lose the game for us, but it sure as hell was the main reason we did not win. All we had to do is give Hood two shots at the end zone and I don’t think that anyone of us would feel as bad as we do with this loss.
I will not call for Larry Fedora’s head, I will not call for Seth Litteral’s head, and I won’t even start the hot seat talk. However, that last drive’s red zone offense has put an additional question mark in my mind. I am going to be totally honest. I’ve never bought into this staff, but I have supported them and will continue to do so. I hope that hind sight they figure it out and do not make the same mistakes. At the least I look at it like this. It was just the first game of the season and we should be 3-1 going into GT. That is the game that will tell us where we really stand. Oh and at the least we did not lose the Super Bowl due to stupid play calling and not utilizing BEAST MODE. It was only the first game of the season with lots of football left on the table. With that, I am on to North Carolina A&T and I hope you all are as well. See you guys in Chapel Hill.
