Still their best album IMO. And what a ****ing good album it is. It's a bit under the radar, but the song "White Blank Page" off that album is still one of my favorite songs ever. Let me back up a second..........also I apologize in advance but this is a total stream of consciousness poast because it's 2:27 on a Friday night, I'm drunk, and I can't sleep because I have borderline insomnia.

To me, some bands -- and more specifically -- some albums lend themselves more toward a certain season or a certain time of the year. I don't know if y'all experience this or not, but to me it seems it only applies to certain bands and albums, not ALL of them. Lots of bands and albums are year-round listen-worthy. Anyway, to me, Mumford's Sigh No More is definitely a cold weather / winter album. It's just got that somber emptiness to a lot of its deep tracks ("White Blank Page" "I Gave You All" "Thistle & Weeds" "Dust Bowl Dance") that reminds me of the desolation and isolation of winter. Anyway....

"White Blank Page" is an amazing song. It's beautiful really. BTW, isn't it crazy how your brain processes and retains music? To wit, I hadn't heard "White Blank Page" in probably a whole calendar year and it randomly popped into my head today. Like, how does that happen? How does a song come out of nowhere and just make its presence known in your brain? Brains are crazy. What's also crazy is how if it was dead silent and someone asked you to write down the words to a song you know but aren't necessarily intimately familiar with, you couldn't do it. But as soon as they turn that song on, suddenly you know all the words. Damn, that's wild. Oh shit, I forgot we were doing caps. DAMN THAT'S WILD.

OKAY GUYS, GOOD NIGHT. HALLELUJAH AMEN, WHERE'S THE TYLENOL??!

"....and tell me now, where was my fault
in loving you with my whole heart?"
