This team is good....really good, but I just wanted to point out a few concerns of mine that no one is really talking about......we miss Tokoto more then people realize,
1. Out of bounds defense - This is the worst team I have ever seen in a UNC uniform on out of bounds plays. They give up at least 4 to 5 lay ups a game off of in bounds plays under the basket. It's simple lack of focus and drives me crazy.
2. Perimeter defense - All your team has to do in order to increase your 3 point shooting percentage is play UNC. Ask yourself how many times this year you have heard this...."this guy has made 2 threes all yer and he has four in the first half", or "he is having a career day"..... We get killed from three. Especially on the high ball screen. We have to be better. But that's the flaw in this defense....it is what it is.
3. Defensive Rebounding - we are giving up way to many second chance points
4. Periods of Lack of Focus - Like today's game....Brice killing them....then suddenly they stop feeding him and they miss nine in a row. Or on the defensive end playing good defense for 30 seconds....the shot goes up, and we stand around and watch a guy rebound it and lay it in. These periods keep us from being super elite.
5. Silly fouls - our bigs drive me crazy at times with silly fouls. Fouls way out on the top of the key ( never understood why we follow a near 7 foot guy out to almost half court) or Joel James fouls trying to gain position....or Brice fouls swatting and reaching...
I personally think number four is our biggest flaw - if we can focus better and give consistent effort, it fixes almost all these issues.
