Just some thoughts.

Nance, who improved each year in college until this year, was better last year at Northwestern than he was this year at UNC.

UNC is one of the 2 or 3 most important, accomplished programs in the history of college basketball. So Davis was granted a very top level job with no HC experience of any kind. After 2 years there is no sign that players get better under him. Save for a lucky run in the NCAA Tournament last year, his teams have no growth.

Northwestern has one of the worst histories in college basketball. So Chris Collins took over a job that seems impossible. Including this year, Northwestern has been to the NCAA Tournament twice, both with Collins as HC.

Does Nance regret leaving Northbnwestern? If he had remained, he'd be playing in the NCAA right now.

Nance takes way too much blame on this board. Our wings inability to shoot worth a damn is why we sucked. Love 37% and Black 41%. The people on this board that were excited for a 5th year of Leaky crack me up. He did what he did the previous 4 years - couldn’t shoot and the guy guarding him sagged off and doubled Bacot. And the ridiculous amount of minutes he played led to Nickel transferring.

chrissy collins can GF himself.

And BTW, there's no guarantee that NW makes the tourney if Nance was still there.
There is not, any more than there is a guarantee that with a half dozen new 5* recruits that Davis could win the ACC regular season and claim a #1 region seed.

But if Nance's presence on this Northwestern team would have hurt it, that means Nance is a type of team cancer. If that is so, then Davis taking him is a sign of Davis being incompetent.

But he doesn't want Mack either. And basically everything UNC sports related is the worst. Not sure why he even is a UNC fan.
Have you ever seen me say that UNC basketball now is worse than Louisville? Avoid acting like a prissy little girl when talking sports. What I want from UNC sports is each to be the best it can be. UNC football hasn't been that since the last year of Mack's first run, and UNC basketball right now is far from even sniffing its near best.

I, for one, will be glad to see football season get here. We get it. You don't want HD. Maybe you can start 5 or 6 more threads to tell us how you feel.
Do you think Davis was a wise hire? Do you have confidence that he is on the cusp of winning consistently against top competition? Do you think Davis could replace Collins at Northwestern and be the 2nd coach there to take 2 teams to the NCAA Tournament? How much of the success Davis has had at UNC do you think is due to the fact that he was given the UNC brand?

Do you think UNC not playing in the NIT is going to result in Davis's head being cleared and suddenly he is clearly a wise coach in charge of players, rather than looking like guy who is flying on prayers as he can't figure to how to control. his players and set the best course for the team?

Do you think all of your whining and bitching is gonna change anything? I don't know yet if it was a wise hire, but I do know that Hubert Davis is currently the head coach at UNC, like it or not. Do I think he's a winner? Absolutely. Can he coach a team to consistently perform at Dean or Roy's level? 9 coaches in all the history of NCAA basketball exceeded Roy's winning percentage, 14 have exceeded Dean's. If you're waiting on the next Roy Williams or Dean Smith, then you're delusional. I think Roy had the UNC "brand" his last 4-5 years. How'd you like his recruiting, or maybe I should say misses. As far as the NIT goes, at first I was angered, but after taking 15 minutes to think about, I'm okay with it. Here's a nugget for you @WoadBlue
God grant me the serenity
to accept the things I cannot change;
courage to change the things I can;
and wisdom to know the difference.
