Nancy Reagan Has Passed . .

RIP. Great First Lady. Classic Lady and great advocate for Reagan family, etc.

It'd be nice if her stance on draconian drug laws died with her...

She never stopped you from shooting up heroin. Go right ahead.

No she didn't. Or anyone else for that matter. Common sense stops me from shooting up heroin. Not the law.

It would be nice if you would wait until she was buried before you make comments like that.

Why? I never refrained from criticizing her when she was alive. Not going to stop now that she's dead.

It's call having a little respect for the dead and showing some class. I don't agree with your boy Bernie, but if he were to die today, I wouldn't immediately start talking about how I didn't like his policies.

Keep in mind, this is coming from the guy who was completely butthurt over Jimmy Fallon making a joke about whether Bernie Sanders would live for another 8 years.

Bernie will join her soon and they can have some heated political debates in the afterlife.

Well if this country has any luck it'll be at least 9 years from now after his two terms.

The fact you even asked that question says everything. You know, I didn't agree with her stance on drugs either. That doesn't mean my very first response to news of her passing is to act like a dickhole.

What makes you think "my very first response" was on this forum? Do you think I read the news and the first thing I did was come here? I was sorry to hear she died, but the only reason any of us know who she was, was because she was a public figure. Her work as a public figure with her position on drugs destroyed more families than could ever be counted. If you want to revere her, go right ahead. Not doing so doesn't make me a "dickhole." Saying she supported a draconian stance on drug laws is not speaking ill of the dead. It is the truth, and if she were still alive she'd still be defending those same positions.

I thought Nancy was mainly part of the "Just Say No" push.

Was she somehow instrumental in escalating the Bullsh*t War on Drugs?

Because it was your very first response on this forum.

ETA: I guess what I'm really trying to say is this. When given a choice between being a dickhole and not being a dickhole, you should try not being a dickhole. You don't agree with her politics? Then start a thread about how you don't agree with her politics. But when somebody starts a thread to honor the memory of a woman who was by all accounts a pretty remarkable person, maybe you could exercise enough self-restraint not to take a steaming dump on it. And by the way, the next time you're wondering why nobody on this board seems to like you -- including even those who might share your political views -- maybe you can refer back to this thread. A little decency and respect goes a long, long way.

Please create a thread about her politics and take this there. This thread is not the place to do it.

I have no doubt Billy. Would not take much.

I dunno, that goo-goo cross-eyed bitch Laura Bush wasn't much of a 1st lady . . I wasn't even disappointed with her because Ol' George was smart and kept her locked up in the bedroom closet I think.
