Nate Laszewski sets up UNC Visit

Las or Days would be great.

Haven't seen him play yet, is he a poor man's Lauri Mark?

And is he the kid that played with Platek? IIRC, he is...could be a help in recruiting.

I prefer Days honestly, love that strong body and sweet shooting touch! Zewski I kinda think can be a stretch 4 but more likely in college brings his offense more mid range jumpers than from out side deep.

Well space, with both parents as Wisc grads and sister on the Wisc. women's team....I'd tend to agree.

Nate Laszewski:

Which schools do you feel like have really prioritized you? "Notre Dame and Wake Forest. Wake Forest has been recruiting me for a while. North Carolina has been reaching out too."

What stands out to you about North Carolina? "Just the success, tradition and talking to Andrew Platek he just loves it there and says it’s a great place to be."

Interesting no mention of Wisconsin, where many believe he is headed...

IMO, I feel ND is the team to beat for him. Interested to see if Wake Forest landing Hoard will change his feeling on them.

Talking to a Badger friend, he says Laszewski is going to be a badger for the apparent reasons and Madison isn't too bad a place either.
Now as to basketball development I would argue, easily, UNC will get the kid ready be it academic or athletic. I, too, have an odd feeling regarding the Domers on this kid. They have been in early, as has Weak Florist. Yet, no mention of Weak but of us and ND....
On a personal basis I would love to see him in CH.

Big run of UNC crystal balls for Nate Laszewski coming off of his official visit
7-6 ND over UNC at the moment.

The last time I checked it was 9-1 ND over Wisconsin.

So . . . sounds like 3 new votes (all for UNC) and 3 flipped votes. Or something along those lines.

I thought 247 was supposed to show when pundits flipped their votes, but it doesn't look like they are doing that.

In any case, ND may be in the lead, but the momentum is YUGE for UNC.

It's funny. I never put any stock in the Crystal Ball picks, but I'm always glad to see upticks in UNC votes.

I'd imagine they're just reacting to the fact that he visited and probably had some nice things to say, but I could be wrong.

247 Crystal Ball seems so arbitrary so I put little stock in it until right before the commitment. But I also like to see UNC getting momentum, because I do think they can sway opinion and have an impact on the player's destination.

The kid would be a nice get for us and I hope he gives us a serious consideration.

I wish he'd commit after Little, Shittu, and Days (all of whom I'd prefer, especially if we only have one scholarship), but one in the hand and such.
I think one way or the other we'll end up with two scholarships. Roy's recruiting plan seems to imply that as well (going after two different types of players).

Definitely seems likely. But if we ended up having to turn down Little...that would be a huge, huge loss. But if we're almost certainly taking 2, I'd happy take Laszewski, since Shittu and Days are probably both <30% chance.

Little, and Lasz.... recruitment have absolutely nothing to do with each other.

If we do in fact have two 'ships to offer (which seems likely), then they're definitely not competing for the same scholarship. But if everyone ends up staying and nobody gives up their scholarship, it's a different matter.

This. They would only have to do with each other if we run out of roster room. I don't think running out of room is all that likely though.

Ah well. on to the next one. Don't think it'll be Days either.

Might have to dig a bit deeper on this one.

I'm not really that upset on missing on this guy, but maybe he will prove me wrong.

I don't love him as a prospect (phenomenal shooter, but defense and rebounding are huge question marks), but we've missed on plenty of guys I haven't loved and gotten guys I love less (as prospects).
