Andrew and I spoke about this AFTER our podcast last night and AJ makes a great point. While UNC waits for a definitive answer from NCAA, they actually are being penalized, when it comes to recruiting. The cloud makes it difficult to get kids to commit. It makes it difficult to get kids to visit. It allows the other schools to plant seeds of doubt. The media talk keeps them in a negative light.

It's like UNC is serving the sentence NOW since so many things are up in the air. It's better if the decision was made, even if it is a punishment (loss of scholarships, vacated wins or post season penalties) because it allows UNC to sell around the decision.

Right now, they can't even sell around the elephant in the room because they don't know what it looks like. The uncertainty and cloud that hovers is killing the recruiting and I think it's like serving the penalty without the penalty.

If they whiff on Brandon Ingram and Jaylen Brown -- well, that's proof.
