NCAA grants extra year to spring sport athletes

I wonder if this will count against the scholarship total allowed per team

A lot of spring sport athletes are on partial scholarship, if any. Who is going to pay for what scholarship doesn’t pick up?

I read in a few articles that they are considering a similar move for winter sports too.

Don't see that happening since they already played their season. Doesn't really matter though. Unless schools foot the bill and the NCAA waives the rule saying they have to be enrolled, almost no one will take advantage.
