Can anyone tell me what's going on with this mess? The length of this process is beyond ridiculous. Thanks for any information you guys can provide.

I thought Bubba had come out a few weeks ago (maybe more?) and said that UNC was still waiting on a revised notice of allegations from the NCAA, which is pretty ridiculous. I mean, I guess if someone had wanted to give the NCAA the benefit of the doubt before (not me) they could've said that it took so long to receive the original notice of allegations because everything they had to look into with the multiple investigations. But this revised NOA should only be because of a couple additional violations self-reported by UNC with regards to soccer and WBB, I think. No idea what is taking them so long to get this new NOA to UNC.

Kudos to Roy and the coaching staff though for hauling in a solid class for next year despite all the negative recruiting that other teams have employed...and will continue to employ as the NCAA continues to drag their feet.

All will be settled, get this ........................................... IN MAY!

As jovialMuse has posted, if it is likely the NCAA revises its NOA, then we have a reset of the clock, and that reset timeline could take up the majority of 2016. In as much as we may have added a full year to this process when we self reported additional violations.
My guess is this will now drag on until at least September or October, and could be as long as a year from now before a decision is finalized.

You have that on very good info, Mikey . . . ? Unless we are in negotiations with the NCAA, that seems unlikely to me. Though I would love for you to be correct, as the month of May would be an absolute blessing IMO . .

Even though the NCAA has jerked us around for over a year and a half (or more, I've lost count at this point), this should have been resolved months ago. With the original timeframe, we'd be waiting for the COI to give us a hearing for if we'd get any punishment or not.

I find it hard to believe that we paid Wainstein OVER TEN MILLION DOLLARS for this 9+ month investigation and yet we managed to miss this tidbit of information that was apparently worth reporting to delay the investigation.

The worst of it all is that because we waited right up to the 90 day period and THEN released it, it makes us look like we tried to delay the ruling just in case they'd give us a ban or infraction for this season. The year that we'd finally be able to have a strong season. It may not be the case, but it makes us look shady, and that's not good.

I really despise the NCAA for the crap they've put us through as well as their "student-athlete" perpetuations, but for once, the NCAA isn't completely to blame.

The Power 5 should break from the NCAA and start over with a new body and new, codified, more sensible, and a more uniform hierarchy of consequences. This subjectivity invalidates every decision they make currently!

Roy and staff are the best there is, and this year proves it beyond the shadow of a doubt!

Besides all the new information in on several schools, they have a fire in every office trashcan in their building...it's not just our admissions on soccer or WBB...

Agreed. Other than when the misses in basketball recruiting remind me of it, I've at times forgotten we're still under investigation. Not sure if that's a good or bad thing.
It's a good thing. It is out of fans control so why sweat it? If something monumentally bad was going to happen we would know something by now.
