i am no lawyer but it looks like a negotiation tactic to me they already sent an anoa. which to the shgrrin of all the prognosticators that want unc bball dead pretty much cleared men's bball and football can't be punished twice for the exact same crime. this is about hammering women's basketball which will happen unc just wants t o look like it is defending our women's program imho.
However, if it is deemed that we lack institutional control then they can hit football and bball.
Auburn's situation has less than zero to do with this case. There was never any allegation there concerning academics or anything remotely substantial about institutional involvement or control.Who cares. This already happened with Auburn and Michigan and they did nothing.
Past precedent has already been sent and if it goes before a court that will matter.
That's fair. They're taking on the jurisdictional claims, which shouldn't be unexpected since it is a direct challenge to some of their enforcement powers. My lawyer buddy said this is not good for UNC. Said that the NCAA isn't rolling over like UNC thought they would.
Not necessarily correct. However, if it is deemed that we lack institutional control then they can hit football and bball.
If your buddy ever represents you in a court of law, I sure hope he does it pro bono . . .My lawyer buddy said this is not good for UNC. Said that the NCAA isn't rolling over like UNC thought they would.
heelman I feel smarter just in reading your post. ThanksTotally inconsequential. What unc did was basically a move to have charges dismissed ploy used by allnlawyers in a court. It rarely works and basically just returns the status of the case to where it was prior. No damage done.

I think the NCAA has met its match. They took on the wrong crowd with UNC and we ought to attend the COI and fight them in any applicable Federal Court until the NCAA becomes an asterisk.
Just wish they worked as fast as they do on SEC football cases!I wish the NCAA would work as fast on this as they do to collect royalties from the likenesses and jersey's of star college athletes!
was the ncaa & unc supposed to meet today ?? or did I read it wrong
