FROM UNC:
CAROLINA is now 19-9 overall, 9-6 in the ACC and 10-4 at home this season.
CAROLINA'S 46 points are the fewest ever by the Tar Heels in the Smith Center. The previous low was 48 in a 48-46 win over Boston College on Feb. 19, 2011.
CAROLINA scored 18 first-half points, matching the fewest in any half by UNC in Roy Williams' 12 seasons as head coach (also 18 vs. Butler in the first half in Maui on Nov. 20, 2012). The 18 also equal UNC's fewest in a half in the Smith Center (had 18 in the first half against Wake Forest on Jan. 27, 1996).
Prior to tonight, CAROLINA had scored 30 or more points in the first half in 25 of its 27 games this year; the fewest it had scored in the first half were 28 against NC Central and 29 vs. Iowa.
CAROLINA's fewest points in any half this year prior to tonight was 28 in the second half at Louisville. The Tar Heels had 18 in the first and 28 in the second this evening.
NC STATE won in the Smith Center for the first time since Feb. 25, 2003.
CAROLINA'S 19 field goals match its season low (also 19 against Iowa).
CAROLINA went 5 for 9 from the free throw line, both season lows. The previous lows were eight free throws made in the previous game against Georgia Tech and 11 free throw attempts twice (Georgia Tech and Louisville).
KENNEDY MEEKS had 12 points and a game-high 14 rebounds. It was his eighth double-double of the season and his first in 11 games since at NC State.
JUSTIN JACKSON led all scorers with 16 points on 7 of 17 shooting from the floor. It was his highest scoring output in nine games since he had 17 at Wake Forest. He made two three-pointers, the fourth time he has made two and the first time since the Virginia Tech game.
MARCUS PAIGE made two three-pointers, which give him 197 for his career, tying Hubert Davis for sixth in UNC history. Jeff Lebo is fifth with 211.
