As a charismatic guy who should be able to help recruit DBs? I always expected that. But that is not player development, nor is it an ability to analyze how the DBs you have best stack up against particular teams.
Those remain an unknown. If he had spent a couple of years as a D2 or 1 AA DB coach we'd have some idea.
He was never hired for his coaching skills, just like Brewster wasn't hired for his coaching skills. They are supposed to be recruiters. All we need from Bly is to not be horrible. I don't think we have to worry about that with his background.
In order to coach them up, you have to first get them on campus. He's done a pretty good job of the latter thus far.
Position coaches are tasked with teaching fundamentals, technique and a hunger to compete, not only in games but in practice to get better and earn/keep your spot. Dre certainly wasn’t able to achieve all he did as a player without being a great technician and having the hunger to compete. I have zero worries about him as a DB coach. That’s much different than him landing a coordinator role. Understand the expectations of his role.
I’m expecting Dre to be a big part of our recruiting efforts. He’s already paying dividends. It appears the young kids really like him and I think they’ll listen to his instructions.
Dre has recruited better in 3 month than I expected in 2 yrs. Hopefully he doesnt run out of God sons and he keeps Charlotte lines flowing. We have good recruiters and guys that bleed blue.
I know it’s early but I can’t believe some of the teams we’re ranked ahead of at this point. Sure hope we can maintain the momentum and finish with a top 15 class.

top 15 would be amazing for mack's first year back. just to give an idea how hard it is to be top 15, the 15th ranked class in 2019 (washington) had 14! four-star recruits.
We're probably one five star (I'm talking to you Mr. Evans) away from being #5.
He said he’s transferring because of his mom and sister having health problems so he wants to be closer to home. A waiver could be possible on those grounds but I’m not really sure. Since he signed a LOI I’m pretty sure he would have to sit a year.
Auburn accusing Mack of tampering...For them to say anything about anybody is comical...
People say the Tate Martell decision is good news for Bru Mccoy, the guy who took a week of classes early spring then left USC for Texas. And if Bru Mccoy gets his waiver because of an OC change, then i'd think Kelly could get his waiver due to his family's stuff (whatever it is)
It is well beyond comical. Auburn is the most penalized program in SEC history. And fans of every Auburn 'rival' will agree that Auburn has deserved many more probations than the Tigers have served.
We used to own that area.
Especially if we could lure another North Carolina guy, Trenton Simpson(a 4* LB).
Should be able to play right away. I mean with some of the reasons given and were granted immediate eligibility he should too.
