New work schedule allows me Saturdays off for the first time .....

In almost 6 yrs with the company that was not part of a holiday or vacation week ! I have faithfully worked virtually every Saturday for the past 6 yrs til this week I started a Monday - Friday 6pm til I finish which can be 5am til later on Sat. morning. I got off around 7:30 this morning and have had the best Saturday. Did not realize how much I missed being off on Saturdays. So tired being up over 24 hours but trying to soak up all of my day off !

Good company to work with but still don't like the fact that I don't receive OT until I have worked 55 hours for the week !

Ugh. Salary problems. That really stinks.

55 hour weeks (11 hour days) after a while can take a toll on ya after a while though . .

Billy , a year ago it was more 13, 14 up to 16 on some days. We would complain to the Terminal manager about working up to 16 hour days and he would say you can't work a man that many hours a day. That very same day you would come back and put in a 15 , 16 hour day. The company eventually moved some freight from our terminal to the terminal in Florence SC and that has helped a little. Overtime at 40 hours would help too !

I have 2 weeks of vacation this year , a week down at White Lake would do wonders for me also. I will try to make that happen latter in the summer. Had a friend who went last weekend said he had a great time down there.
