A few years ago I watched Carolina basically quit trying during a game at Clemson when the score started to get out of hand. At the game Saturday night, I was very impressed with the fight and determination on display by your Heels. I think Fedora is building a team that believes that it can come back on anyone at anytime. They almost did. Very impressive. Good luck in your bowl game against Baylor. Carolina 's football future looks bright.

Thanks tigers79 and the same to you. As Fedora told Swinney, "go win the whole thing". This is what us Heels have been waiting on, for out team to rise to the top tier of the ACC.

We played poorly on both sides of the ball through 3 quarters, then gained our composure. Can't beat a very good team like that. There is still a significant talent gap between the two teams, especially along both lines, and that goes a long way toward determining the outcome.

Still, despite that we still had a chance at the end. This team has grit. Good luck to the Tigers. Bring home the title!!!

Well, it's not just we played poorly. Quise overthrew in a manner that was not typical but for the most part, they just beat us by dominating the line, putting a lot of pressure on marquise, shutting down running lanes and having a great offensive game, especially at QB.

Had Marquise been his usual self and playing well, he is such a playmaker we could have beaten them, and I agree we should have put Mitch in there for a bit. But we stayed in there, fought hard and just faced a very tough team at their best minus some truly terrible mistakes like the punter trying to go for it on 4th and 15. Even the interception in the red zone late in the game was more Clemson making a play, batting the ball, rather than Marquise throwing it away.

Tough game. We probably could have won with just a little better play and execution. But then again, had they not made some dumb mistakes, we might not have been in there anyway.

Curious. We're you referencing 2006 or 2011 re: UNC mailing it in? I was at both games in DV. In 11, Shoop ruined us in early 3rd Q of a 24-17 halftime score, w/ 3 straight sideline bombs after moving it down to about the CU 35 yd line. Then, it got out of hand for about 2/3 of a quarter, and all of a sudden it was 49-20 (ended 59-35).

06 was a typical Bunting beatdown. 52-7, or very close to that. It was 28-0 early in the 2nd Q. Miserable beginning that only got worse over a 3 and 1/2 hr. time period.

Actually, the 2011 game was the one that came to mind. I took a Tarheel buddy to the game in DV. We both remarked that no one in the UNC secondary wanted anything to do with Sammy Watkins. The body language was that they were beaten before the play began. He beat one guy Tim ????? many times in that game to the point that I felt sorry for him.
The Bunting years was a different story. Just not very good football teams under Bunting.
