North Carolina has interest in Xaivian Lee

I don’t see why any top level player would want to come to UNC right now.
Yea Coach, exactly. It would be nice to report on why this is happening. There IS a correlation between great talent leaving, top prospects overlooking this program and weak player development. Not even mentioning team dynamic and lack of being competitive. I guess we can all read between the lines tho, just that no one close to the program wants to touch it, report the findings and bring some accountability to the forefront.

Does HE have interest in us? That seems to be where we keep getting hung up.

Our initial look into this revealed there wasn't interest on his part. We tried to delicately note that, but at the same time, the portal is weird, conversations can change how one feels about the other, etc.

So, we are looking to see if there's been any change from his camp.

We have space and potential starting roles so.......we should reach out to all peeps who fit our needs. Now that our money is competitive, I expect to see more peeps increase their interest!

Come check out the Family, Mr. Lee!

Right TP, seems like the starting positions are opening up lol. Very impressive stats from Mr. Lee, could he be a stable part of the team?

I suspect AJ that most (being nice but truth is very few) players enter the portal already with a list of teams they have interest in as well as already having some degree of contact with that list of teams BEFORE they enter the portal. Agents talk to agents 365 does not have to be a coach talking to the player. The portal creates a very fluid landscape, what was true yesterday may not be today, most final decisions evolved to what they are rather than start out that way.

Was it he initially had no interest in UNC, was it that he did not realize that UNC would be as interested in him or that UNC would have such a wide open spot that would fit him great?

Judging from this video....

Good stats (but against weak competition)
Reasonable quickness
Fairly quick release (but sometimes starts low)
Fearless inside (but can he finish against better foes?)
Nice passing
Shoots well off the dribble

Basically looks like a winner IF his game translates to the next level.

The PG next year may not have to do the traditional things that we're accustomed to seeing a UNC PG having to do. If Caleb Wilson Veesaar are plus passers/handlers/playmakers for their position and size, we might see a lot more offense triggered through them with more horns sets or the offense starting from the high post/elbow area. If that's the case (and I have no idea whether it will be or not), getting a PG who knows how to play without the ball in their hands will be an important skill. And quite frankly a skill that I didn't see Cadeau have much of. No clue if Lee has that in his game or not. I think Holloman does. But just a general statement.

On paper, the addition of Wilson and Veesaar increases some of that playmaking skill that Washington and Lubin were zeroes in last season.

Of course, if UNC is obsessed with being the fastest tempo team in America like they always are, then they probably need more of a specific type of PG. But teams that have bigs that can trigger their offense is a true luxury and makes your team more difficult to defend. There's at least potential there. Whether Hubert decides to utilize that is up to him.

5.2 assists per game to 2.2 TOs, total of 67 TOs for the season, our starting PG had 113 TOs last season with an assist to TO ration of 2:1.

He does seem to need that rythem dribble to gather his shooting motion. In a world filled with catch and shoot guards it is nice to see a guy that prefers to shoot off motion, allows him to sell the pump fake to force the fly by and the 1 dribble pop like we saw with Kerwin Walton. Not sure everything I saw in that clip translates to this level of play but I saw enough that should to want him.

Good positional size at 6'4-5", shoots trey well enough that he would compliment Seth's inclination to drive for his scoring, both Seth and this kid drive with their heads up so they see what the defense is doing.

You have to think a solid summer learning the ropes and training/ playng with and against higher caliber players not to mention alum could round him into form. IDK

Are we ignoring the part where he wants to visit dook and has no interest in us despite our reaching out to him?

Has this been said somewhere…Reason I ask is because I have only seen UNC,Nova, and St John…Also his family values his education a lot…So it might not be all about the money…We will see…He played in the G- League Camp last year…We will see…

Actually, I wouldn't mind the kid committing to duke, go ahead Scheyer, go ahead and piss off Cayden Boozer and his brother, go ahead and push Procror out the door, go for it! LOL

We aren't going to be able to outbid dook or BYU. And Florida certainly has momentum on their side.

I think he would be a good fit. Hopefully Tanner and Hubs can get at least a visit!
