Should be a great matchup against a tough team. We have not won an NC with Roy yet without going through these guys and their metrosexual coach, so it seems kind of fitting that they are between us and the title yet again. Hopefully they will shoot below 70%. Can't wait!

Should be a very good game. I think we can play MUCH better than we did tonight. It may sound strange but this team can play better than it did We made a few too many boneheaded plays, especially in the second half. NOVA??? How can they IMPROVE on what they did today?? I guess they can play as well, although they are gonna be hard pressed to shoot 71% again
Play our game, hit some threes ...even just a FEW more and pound away on the inside. I like our chances to curt down the nets Monday night!!!!

Oklahoma gave up and spread their checks and even lubed up really well for that ass whooping ! We will be too much for Nova if we continue to pound the ball down low and hit a few 3's !
Big time game. I think the 2 best teams that's played the best in the tournament.
We have more talent. I would call Villanova a little bit tougher but not in a margin that would be a deciding factor IMO.
My worry in this game is Nova's been tested by better opponents. They had to go through Kansas and Oklahoma. 2 pretty good teams and at worst 2 top 10 teams.

I've never been more concerned about a final game opponent in my life. I started watching the Heels play basketball as a young boy when Phil Ford and Walter Davis were still there. But, my first NCAA Tourney memory was losing to Indiana in the '81 final.
I'm not a basketball expert, but I've seen Nova beat Kansas and Oklahoma in consecutive games- both Top 10 nationally. We've beaten two of our conference teams the last two games. I don't think either were ever nationally ranked (maybe ND was). We beat Indiana, who did win the BIG 10 regular season. We beat Providence who beat Nova in the BE Tourney. It's a tough call.
I know without a doubt that this UNC team can beat ANY team in the country, and beat them soundly, when they play to their potential. In fact, we can beat most teams when we play to half our potential.
Nova has been playing incredible basketball in this tournament. We've been playing our best in the last month, too.
I think we can win on our rebounding and our depth... and, I think we will win on that. I think Brice Johnson will not allow us to lose.

Villanova will be tough. I thought they would beat Oklahoma today, but I certainly didn't expect a blowout. I agree, beating Kansas and Oklahoma in back-to-back games is no easy task. They are also shooting the ball extremely well. The Heels will have to continue to play solid defense and use their advantage inside to win the game.
Nova is tough especially on D .. we UNC have gotten pretty tough on D ourselves lately not much respect for our D ... I don't think we have to play great but well as a team & I like our chances Monday night .. Go Heels !
If we take care of the ball and can hit 30%+ from 3 we walk away with it. I think u will see us play the best d of our season on monday
UNC had second most double digit wins while playing in toughest conference. Nova is very good but Carolina beat a FF team three times this year and had multiple wins over elite 8 competition. I doubt Nova has seen an inside game like the Heels and UNC will play much better defense than Ok did. This Carolina team is possibly the most balanced team I have seen. So many guys can carry the team for short stretches.
Nova fan here. I am hoping for a good game. I hope we learned from yous guys in 2005 and that we pay off the refs and maybe we can win in a bs phantom travel call. We deserve it.
I don't care about the academic scandal that has plagued your school. That's whatever to me. I do care about the 2005 corruption and tom o'Neil scandal.
On a serious note, the game should be a good one. You guys have beat us three times in the tourney in the jay wright Roy Williams era. But I like our chances this time around. This is the closest projected game out of the four based on point spread.

IMO, honestly Oky crapped the bed, I had Nova winning that game by double digits but but I actually thought Oky would at least try to defend someone and ya had to figure Oky would at very least hot some decent jump shots, they did neither. They got exposed as nothing but a jump shooting team that could not shoot in that huge arena. They had nothing else to go to once we saw they could not shoot and Nova had the revenge factor on their side for that early game this season.
Oky had plenty of good looks but they just could not drop anything. There was one stretch late when Uche was clearly hurt and not able to run on that ankle and Oky still saw the margin increase playing 5 on 4?
I saw that game as more what Oky could not do more so than what Nova did, leaves me to ask, how over rated was Oky and Kansas? Great games vs each other but their front lines got exposed, they showed me they were just jump shooting teams and jump shots can check out on you in big time pressure games. IN other words they were pretty much duke...
Go back and look at my posts - I have predicted double digit wins all thru the post season tournaments and see no reason to back off tomorrow night. I realize Nova is hot but we have two things that they do not have: serious quality depth and a HoF coach who's been in this spotlight MANY times.
Our guys exorcised the demons following the dook loss: locker room fights, brutally physical practices, discipline sessions by the coaches ... they got it ALL out of them and turned the corner. Sure they lost a difficult game at UVA but even that game was winnable. All other games since dook have been decidedly in our favor the majority of the game. Our guys are cocky, confident and having fun --- just like the '09 team they KNOW they're the most deep and talented team on the floor and expect to win with relative ease - and they will. GO HEELS !!!!
I think the depth is the key. Roy can play different line ups different ways. first half UNC does not hit a three and Brice sits due to foul trouble but still takes a lead into halftime. Carolina just attacks in waves and is relentless on the glass. Cuse looked gassed the last six minutes of the half and that was playing at their pace. Nova plays tremendous perimeter defense but that is not where the Heels attack. I am not saying Carolina cannot lose but I definitely think we are the better team
This game will be decided by defense and which team can deny the others strength(their perimeter vs our inside advantage). Carolina wins if we give a 40 minute defensive effort(like Kansas put on Nova) and we attack their man to man with post success and dribble drive/dish(so Berry is critical, Paige's matchup may negate his importance on dribble/drive).
If Nova can put Carolina in help mode(they have many ball handling options) and free up 3 point shooters, it could be a long night. There style of play may dictate Roy go to a smaller line up early unless our bigs get off to a big dominant start.
