We've had some tough games with Pitt, and I expect this to be another one. Good to see that they give up a ton of yards and points, as I like our chances at home if it's a shootout.

yeah giving up 500 yards to JM just doesn't inspire much confidence in the "D".

The D did kinda settle in some last season, didn't help we had a couple starters out on that Dline for this game. Sure don't want to have to score 50 to win to many games, against Louisville we may have to score 100.

That's one game I dread,we will not win this one with our defense.Just hope they're not running on full steam ahead like they did against FSU.

Maybe JMU was a combination of injuries and some others simply not playing well, but it was a troubling performance for sure. Hopefully we can get some guys back on the field and show some improvement but until I see it I don't have a lot of confidence in the defense.

JMU executed really well. Yes they manhandled our DL in the first half, which forced our LB's and the strong safety to be mistake free, but JMU also didn't make mistakes.

Our D plan was a bit vanilla, so if we don't get healthy bodies back, and if the LBs don't improve we're going to have to be more creative defensively or we're going to be in a shootout every game.

Correct and based on our "D" performance I'm going to hold off making any firm plans.

The only way we play Louisville is in the ACC Championship Game.

Ill take it. By then I expect our D to be better, if it can remain healthy.

Our running gm seems like it is missing something compared to last yr, but if mt stays hot we'll stay in games til the end. Nazair's health is now my key to the D.

I thought the D played ok after the first quarter. Not sure if that was due to some coaching adjustments or the players stepping up. Hopefully it was a combination.

JMU had some good players on their defensive side. They sure took us to task. Our defense needs to get way better to stand any chance in conference play. Those posters talking about UNC having 3 loses or more may have it right. If we aren't improving loss one may be coming up against Pitt.

All I know is Deems May said JMU's defense was terrible , The Illini was routed 34-10 by W. Michigan , and we scored only 17 points on UGa on offense so that tempers my praise for our offense.

The only thing wrong with our running game is that we under utilize it. Two stud backs and they barely get 20 touches between them? Running more would open things up for Mitch even more; but what the hell do I know?
