I'd post this on Radar, but, well, you know....

UNC Volleyball won the ACC championship this season (decided by regular season results) to finish 26-2 overall, 17-1 in conference. Mrs. James Michael McAdoo plays a prominent role on the team for those who don't know. They kick off NCAA tournament play Friday night in Chapel Hill at 6:30 as a #7 seed. The match will be televised by ESPN3. (NCAA Bracket)

UNC Men's Soccer is one of 8 teams left in the NCAA Tournament and plays UCLA at 8:00 pm on Saturday. With a win, they would advance to the College Soccer Cup with something of a home field advantage since it's being played in Cary. It looks like the game versus UCLA will be carried on the Pac-12 Network. Sure, I'll be watching football on TV, but I might see if I can follow the soccer game online. (NCAA Bracket)

Anyway, good luck to both Heels teams in the postseason. Go Heels!

Would love to see a final 4 from these two teams. We need some good news

Yes, we can sure use some good news. I feel with the overall athletic department performance over the past year, the poor performance of the football team and horrible start by the basketball team along with the AFAM scandal, UNC athletics is probably at it low point in modern college sports era. Time to rise!

UNC Volleyball had no trouble with Hampton yesterday, then advanced to the "Sweet 16" tonight after a fantastic come-from-behind win against Southern Cal tonight. Heels dropped the first set and were trailing in the second before rallying to win. The third set was nip and tuck but they pulled it out, and then they dominated the fourth set for the 3-1 win. They'll face 10-seed Oregon next Friday in Minneapolis.

UNC Men's Soccer is underway versus UCLA with no score right now. The match is on the Pac-12 Network which I'm watching on my iPad via the Time Warner Cable app. My TV is flipping between the ACCCG and the B1GCG.

The Heels played a man down for most of the game because of an early ejection. They scored first but fell behind 3-1, then came up with 2 goals in less than 30 seconds to send the match to OT.

UNC had a chance for the win tied 4-4 with the last remaining PK but the UCLA goalie made the save. UCLA goes on to win in the 8th round of PKs. Tough, tough loss.

It was on in the background. I was watching real football.
