I know Coach just had the knee replacement surgery .Anyone know if he is still in hospital?? What is the rehab like for this type of surgery??? Is he walking now??? I know it is a dead period for recruiting but what is the time frame for him to be back to a fairly normal pace???

I've had partial knee replacements in both knees (not at the same time though). I'm guessing Roy had a full-replacement in one knee. His entire leg is swollen and badly bruised, with a fairly significant amount of discomfort for a week or so. He can walk with crutches though, and will start PT a few days after the surgery. It's mostly about strength and range of motion, which he'll get back, but this will take several months (six or longer most likely). But he'll definitely be up and about without crutches a week or so after the procedure. He won't sleep very well at night for several weeks (too much discomfort).

Bet he'll be fun at the metal detectors, I know when I had my ankle and lower legs bones repaired after a trimalleolar fracture it was fun at the airport, courthouse....no I'm not hiding anything in my ankle or lower leg bones...

Average length of hospital stay after total knee replacement is 3-4 days. Total recovery is 3 to 12 months. I'm willing to bet Coach William's recovery time will be closer to 3. I think he will be getting some "excellent" care.
