Well he walked so..
You know, before you get torched on this board, I have to admit that the way he caught the ball, and then jumped back, he did travel (technically).... but I think guys jump back and set up to shoot like that, they often travel in college and almost always do in the NBA. Its sketchy for the officials to blow a whistle on a call like that at end of game. And, an official was staring right at him all the way.

If you break each play down like the Kennedy / Zapruder film, you could find at least a dozen calls like that to make. We lost two wrong calls to you where you hit it out of bounds and got the ball back. You got screwed a bit on the goal tend call in the end. Point is - can't just look at one borderline call at the end of the game...

(I hope I don't get banned, for saying technically he may have travelled).

Gotta admit though, the calls definitely went your guys way the first half. But we had our chances. I'm ok to losing to a good team though.

Could be said both ways. The fouls were 19 to 20. Pretty even. Refs dont determine the outcome players do

in kentucky it will rank very close to laetners.
luke's shot will get him free beers until the cows..............
I'm sure it stings just as bad to them, but at least our guy isn't a jerk-wad dookie. Laetner should've been tossed from that game earlier anyway after the chest stomp.

Refs can most certainly determine outcomes of games. Can change it slow down momentum or call phantom fouls on kids causing them to sit for a half. This game was not determined by the refs but some bad calls were def made. Just sad when 2 great teams play and we have 3 retards officiating that have an impact on it. Like I said I'm alright losing to a good team. Could be worse..we could be Louisville..

I just watched a loop with Titanic music of that shot for like 15 minutes straight!

This shot will never get old, but to go down in Tar Heel History it has to lead to a Natty!

What key said at the top, "one of the greatest"....
Sweet D hit one memorable shot I remember...as an example...from about 40 feet....
lots of them but this one should lead to an NC.

We see the game differently. KY earned pretty much every foul called, and had a lot that went uncalled as well. We got away with a few things, but after re-watching 3 times I am certain KY got away with more.

Refs did a better than average job from what I have seen this season. It hurts to lose, and I know that from experience.

KY played their hearts out, and so did the Heels. I am glad we won, but hate it for your kids.

Think we can beat South Carolina in the championship also and remind them that they are only in the SEC?

This is true, soap.
They called it pretty fair. There were misses, but for uk fans to complain comes up lame given that on almost every replay of a foul (some called on us) Briscoe, et al had one of our guys by the wrist. They let some stuff go on both ends, but the missed calls were generally of the miss-able variety. The numbers of fouls and FTs were pretty much as they should be in this particular matchup.

Honestly I would love to see which of the calls against them they are complaiing about. Fox, Bam, and Monk most certainly earned their early foul trouble.

And you guys woulda been beat by Arkansas if not for the refs so..
All you Kentucky rednecks are the same. It's always a REF or some other thing that causes you to act like inbred buffoons because some kids beat your kids in a basketball game. Burning televisions and acting like idiots. Basketball is a game, life is hard, almost as hard as getting circumcised by someone kicking your sister under the chin. Which is probably how 90 percent of Kentuckians do it. Get back to that cesspool that is Rupp Rafters Clown!

And it's always some dipshit like u behind a keyboard talking smack. Come on down to this great state and I'll give u a good ol KY butt kicking.

i watched it in person about 7 rows from the floor without the benefit of replay. There were 3 plays that were complete bs in the first half. The tip in from bam was not goaltending, the over the back put back from Bam was not an over the back foul, and the block on Fox was a charge, that kid was outta control. That's 4 points taken off the board. Does it lose the game for us no, but in a game of this magnitude every point counts. John Higgins has been the official in now 3 losses that UK has had in the tourney since 2011. I could see in person his attitude towards Cal. Definitely something fishy going on.

Literally wants a block call when your play had ZERO feet on the ground, let alone set and in position to take a charge.

It doesn't matter one iota how much out of control or not he is if you are not set. He tried to slide in to draw a charge and was EXTREMELY late on it. Oh well it is a foul. Get over it.

I'll take your 2 bad calls and give you two. The outbounds when Hicks and Briscoe are going after the loose ball was off of Briscoe not Hicks. Awarded you the ball. Go watch the replay if you want to argue it. It was clear as day off of Briscoe's finger.

The out of bounds when Bam lost control of the ball near our baseline went out of bounds off his leg. You were awarded the ball. Replay shows this clear as day.

Willis loose ball with Berry could have been called a foul on Willis at 3 different times. Your crowd booed like idiots when totally wrong.

When Stillman knocked the ball out of bounds and it was awarded to you, he was clearly fouled in order to lose possession of it.

So take your crybabying about calls out o here. If you do not want to be unbiased and act like only your team had bad calls against it, then get outta here and go cry with the rest of your fans.

You are wrong on all but possibly, maybe, the goaltending call. It was quite close. Bam hit Meeks in the head with his left arm, clear as day, Fox never remotely got his feet set or squared up.

The charge call on Berry late in the game was BS, took 2 points away and a ft opportunity that should have been called on the defensive foul that was called a charge instead. This kind of stuff went both ways all game.

If you want to see some reffing BS, look at the FT disparities we got in 2 out of 3 of our games with dook. They shot more than double our total in two of the games, I am talking 18ish more FTs in EACH of two different games. And we still WON one of those shitshows!

Is he talking about when he went over meeks and made what would have been a clean rebound if he hadn't put his left hand down and held Meeks down around his neck? That was a foul.

Jesus. Like, you said you were in attendance. How about you go watch the close up replays now that show you otherwise.

Goaltend wasn't a goaltend imo.

And honestly the biggest call against you that you didn't even name was the no call on the end of 1st half drive. That dude got fouled big time by Carolina.

I have now as painful as it was. I still stand firm on all accounts. Plus the blatant foul on Fox at the end of the half. Does it make it difference in the end, who knows, but if the calls were the opposite, you guys would feel the same way. Just wish both teams had a fair shake at what coulda been a great game. ✌

You guys has never lost a game legitimately, it is always a NCAA conspiracy or the fault of the refs. Even if i agreed that the calls were bogus, and I don't, Cal chose to not play his players the rest of the first half. In a big game, sometimes you have to roll the dice a little and hope for the best. Cal chose not to do so. UK had a 5 point lead with 5 minutes to go and allowed UNC to outscore them 10-0 to take a five point lead. two miraculous threes by Monk and two missed FT's by Jackson are why the game was so close at the end. Sorry, but we lost a game on a last second shot last year, a title game. So we know how you feel.

So Fox wasn't fouled at the end of the half? Bam did goaltend? The white kid didn't lower his shoulder and run over fox? All called by same official who doesn't like Cal. Those are not debatable.
