is 1000 yard rushers. Elijah Hood now has 945 yards rushing. I'd like to him bust a long TD on the 1st play from scrimmage to join the Tar Heel 1000 yard club.
Agreed 11. Love to add another member to the 1K club!I definitely love the emphasis we've put on the traditional ground game this season!
Definitely. It also disproves the theory that the Fed Spread can't let a star running back shine. Heck, Hood is a power runner and yet is getting his yards on pitches, draws, swing passes, and the like. I love the plays where it's a quick shovel to #34 and he can get outside then quickly get vertical and run with a full head of steam against boundary players that probably aren't too thrilled to try to tackle him.Agreed 11. That notion was debunked in his first year here, actually. Gio went for 1,228 and 6.7 ypc in 2012. The struggles since then have mostly been the product of a young O line.Definitely. It also disproves the theory that the Fed Spread can't let a star running back shine.
Oh I don't disagree. I meant it debunked the misconception / viewpoint that it was a pass-heavy offense. You know the type of people I'm referring toThat notion was debunked in his first year here, actually. Gio went for 1,228 and 6.7 ypc in 2012. How could we be a pass-heavy offense? We have a tight end playing quarterback, for crying out loud.Oh I don't disagree. I meant it debunked the misconception / viewpoint that it was a pass-heavy offense. You know the type of people I'm referring to

Agreed. Mitch is no doubt a better pocket passer, and a serviceable runner, but I wouldn't be surprised if the offense takes a step back. On the other hand, we should return 4 starters on the offensive line and all our running backs so maybe the traditional ground game will flourish and offset the loss of MW's running ability.Gonna be interesting next year without a qb than can run like quise can.
Exactly what I surmise will happen RH.Agreed. Mitch is no doubt a better pocket passer, and a serviceable runner, but I wouldn't be surprised if the offense takes a step back. MUCH more mobile. Trubisky is getting undersold as a runner by our fans, only because of how proficient Quise is at running. Trubisky can scoot.Mitch is much more mobile than Renner.
Mitch's speed isn't the issue. His ability to break tackles is.Mitch may not break 50-yard gainers like Quise, but he'll still pick up a good 5-9 yards which still helps.
