That's Radford this Sunday. Unless you count conference games against BC (and maybe Ga Tech). We play each of them only once.

I feel sorry for Radford, coming after this disappointing loss. But it's a shame that whatever Roy does to our guys won't be fresh in their minds when we play better teams.

Instead of dealing with our frustration by blowing out hapless Radford, I'd rather use it to send a message to a few of our guys who seem to need it.

Against Radford, I'm starting

Seventh
Kenny
Justin
Luke
Tony

...with Brandon first off the bench and then Stilman and then the walkons.

After that performance, why should any of the others expect to start or see much time? Let them spend a week between the doghouse and wind sprints. Maybe it will get through.

And you know what? If we lose that game because we are sending a message to those guys, so be it. Not that we would lose.

OK, so I would not take things that far but I would settle the who starts at the 2 situation, I would start kenny because he seems to work better with Joel as a duo. The other change I would like to see is 7th used as a 2, at least for this game and Nate as the back up PG. he is thinking more than playing right now, give him a chance to play more to his comfort zone so he can gain back some confidence.

I think folks need to understand, we just played our 6th game in a row away from home, this team has spent a lot of time in air planes and adjusting to time differences. That takes a toll on you after a while, it does lend itself in halves like our first half vs IU was. The other thing is this team, last years team was similar, they seem to need to play more, on 2 or 3 days rest we have played well but give us a week and not as sharp.

Fortunately we now have 3 home games before we fly out to vegas and meet Ky on the 17th.

Yeah that's a little much.
Intended as a conversation starter.

What lineup would you start?

By the way, that starting lineup is something we might see a good bit of next year. Depending on who leaves and how the frosh develop (and swapping Theo in for Justin).

So it isn't such an implausible lineup to use against a weak opponent, if you think about it.

In fact, the more I think about it, the more I like that lineup.

I've noticed that in other years, too. Why do you think that is? Are practices too easy? I can't really imagine that's the case. But a certain staleness sets in and needs to be shrugged off. A determined foe can put us on our heels while we are waking up.

Well, you get in a certain groove as a player, you get used to playing in front of crowds, you get used to the competition that just can not be replicated in practice. You get used to the routine of days spacing between games and that can be a challenge when you get extended down time from real games, can take you out of your routine and that can have less than desired effects.

What is the point of games like this? Doesn't excite the fanbase. Doesn't sell tickets. Doesn't make for good TV. It doesn't really do much for the team.

All these early-season throwaway games seem pointless to me. Really wish CBB would shorten the season.

What is the point of games like this?

These games are there so that you can play with different starting lineups, mix up rotations, and try to let your team battle through opposing runs without using TOs - against a crappy opponent. So that you don't have to do those things when you're playing @ one of the tougher places to play in the country.

Dude. There's no message to send that Roy won't have already sent in practice.

Reality is we just lost to a team in an environment/situation that literally every Top-10 team would have likely been not just beaten but blown out.

Take a lap.

Tennessee probably isn't much better than them. They lost by 13 to Chattanooga, who we blasted. Still, I get the point. Davidson, Monmouth, and UNI are definitely a step up from Radford.
