Ok, so last year's league didn't go so well. I think that was mainly due to the fact that we had too many people participating. So, I was thinking that this year we could limit that number to 8 people or 10 if there is enough demand. Hopefully that will limit the league to people who will actively participate. Is there anyone who wants to give it another shot this year?

I'd be down to try it again.

I think a higher buy-in would dissuade people that weren't committed to it from participating, but if there are other ideas to accomplish that, I'm fine exploring those as well.

I will play if the stakes are decent. If not, then I'm out.

I also insist on a weekly payout to the team which scores the most- this keeps almost everyone interested enough to log on to start the best possible team.

Side note

I am in one of the longest running fantasy leagues in the history of western civilization. We started playing in 1985, which is before many of you were born, I would reckon.

We can do 10, but it appears like there won't be 10 people playing. Half of the people want to bet the house and the other half want to keep it where it was.

That's impressive. I'm in a league with my younger brother and his friends that started around 1998 but you've got us whipped.

i don't care what the buy-in is...a weekly payout is too complicated, imo.

We have done weekly payout for a while and it works fine. Highest scoring team each week gets 1/16th of 25% of pot. Not hard at all to track. It gives people who are otherwise out of it a reason to set their lineup each week.

that's your opinion...if you want to track it, then you can be in charge of it.

if it's 12 people that see each other frequently, i could see it, especially if people aren't hip to it from the jump...i've never done it, nor have i ever been in a league where the interest declines.
