OOTB's Political Thread . ..

No big woop here. Presidents have violated the constitution throughout our history. Adams, Lincoln, Wilson, FDR, Bush, and Obama are all guilty.
We don't have "rights" anyway. We never have. Rights cannot be taken away. We have some privileges, at best.

At least you're okay with it.

I’ll just leave this,

The Washington Post reports[/a]. The 30-cart fleet, which the Secret Service is renting through the end of September, was described as being necessary in order to protect a "dignitary," although the president was not explicitly referenced by name.

Surprisingly, while many nonessential businesses around the country have closed to prevent the spread of disease, Virginia's Trump National Golf Club remains open. Gov. Ralph Northam (D) allowed for golf courses to continue to operate so long as golfers keep a six-foot distance from others. The Virginia club is a favorite of the president's; he has visited it 76 times since taking office, most recently in October.

Post notes that Trump has not played golf since March 8, when there were still only about 500 confirmed COVID-19 cases in the U.S. and 21 deaths, most of which were concentrated at a nursing home in Washington State. In a statement, Secret Service spokesperson Cathy Milhoan clarified that the "emergency" contract referred specifically to "a need for expedited handling of the procurement due to deadlines within the agency's business processes." Over/under on what percentage of the Hillary/Biden liberals will completely ignore the sexual assault allegations against Biden? I'm gonna go with 95%

What is a Hillary/Biden Liberal?

I believe that anyone who is considering a vote for Biden over Trump won't give a shit about any sexual misconduct that Biden ever did. People don't really give a shit about it, period!

'Establishment' democrats. Whatever you want to call them. People who watch CNN and say shit like "vote blue no matter who." That's the demographic I'm talking about. I haven't heard a peep about this story out of any of them. It'll get suppressed the same way that Biden not being able to tell the difference between his wife and sister did.

I guess it depends on how "bad" this present situation gets.

For the life of me, I cannot understand WHY Trump would even want to run again. I gotta believe his better judgement has so much Buyer's Remorse that it's unbearable!

He's getting more attention than he's ever gotten in his entire life and now he has power. I don't think he wants to give that up. The stress of the job doesn't affect him because he's doesn't actually give a shit about people. If he makes a shitty decision that hurts Americans then he'd probably just tell himself they deserved it because he's the best at everything.

Yeah... that's a pretty good summation!

Ask @prlyles. He said one of the reasons he didn't vote for Trump was the way he treated women. Will he stick to his word and never vote for someone who assaults women?

So far I haven’t seen anyone running that I wouldn’t vote for over Trump. The last 3 years should make any sane person feel the same way.

Nominating Biden is a trap.

You don’t like Trump because of his treatment of women? Well Biden just got accused of sexual assault, sniffs the hair of little girls, and famously attacked Anita Hill during the Clarence Thomas confirmation hearings.

You don’t like trump because he’s mentally incompetent? Biden can’t tell the difference between his wife and his sister.

You don’t like trump because he lies? What about Biden straight up lying about trying to cut social security, Medicare and veterans benefits? Or lying about marching during the civil rights movement?

Trump is a uniquely dangerous president but the hypocrisy is going to make it damn hard to convince Americans to vote against him.

Yeah, I've said before that Biden was just the other side of the coin when compared to Trump. He's just a little more PC than Trump and tries to hide it. Trump just doesn't give a shit.

Not every election, but most of them. Trump is going to do a great job of making both sides into huge hypocrites. Not just about politics, but about principles and morals too.
Well... he's not doing it alone. He's getting a lot of help from his "opposition." The DNC have lobbed two easy pitches at him. It's not hard to get a hit when you know the pitch that's coming.

So that would make you a hypocrite then.

Everything we knew about Trump before he was elected demonstrated this is exactly how he would handle this situation. Just read his Twitter history.

Trump is exactly who we thought he would be. I’m more disappointed in the public and politicians that refuse to hold him accountable.

Public and politicians holding someone accountable. That's funny. It has been a circus show for the last 3 years. The left has made sure of it. As for the public, they voted him in

You said Trump's treatment of women should disqualify him from being president. If that's true, then why does it not disqualify Biden? The next time you start to post about all these religious types ignoring things they stand for, just remember that you are no better than them and you're willing to sacrifice what you believe in because you don't like Trump.

This is unbelievable.

Tl:dr - usually when they test vaccines, they test a bunch then once they find the 1 that is best they build the factories for it so they can mass produce. That takes a long time. Bill Gates' foundation is donating billions to test these vaccines and build factories at the same time for all of them, knowing they will only use 1-2 of the best. The other factories will then be converted for other things.

Next time Bernie bitches about billionaires someone show him this.

I don’t recall telling you who I would vote for, only that it wouldn’t be Trump.

You've said many times you would vote for whoever is running against Trump, so unless you are saying you are going to write someone in, that means you are going to be voting for Biden.

An egomaniacal liar vs a guy with some sort of cognitive disability. I’m evidently supposed to choose the lesser of two evils. I didn’t vote for either the repub or dem last time but I’m determined to choose one or the other this go round. Should be interesting.

Why are you determined to pick one of those two? I'm probably going to leave it blank or throw a vote to Gabbard since she's technically still in it. She deserves a vote for telling Clinton to **** off.

i would vote for gabbard over either in a heartbeat

Here’s my breakdown so far for the issues I find important in order. Subject to change. And it’s mostly hunches and opinions so don’t bother asking me to prove anything.

economy- it’s done fine under trump. Have nothing to judge Biden by. -trump

Healthcare-imo everyone deserves it. Pie in the sky? Maybe. -Biden

terrorism/national security-tough one. I think the “boots on the ground” should make the calls. I lean hard right on the relevant issues dealing with surveillance and so on but then trump has shown an ability to disregard intelligence when it serves his personal interests. Very slight lean-trump

Education- putting a home schooler in charge of education was one of trumps jaw dropping stooooopid decisions. -Biden

immigratrion-“we’re gonna build a wall and Mexico’s gonna pay for it”. Will go down in history as the most idiotic, ill conceived, stupid af policy/claim of any president in history. I don’t have a clue what Biden’s stance is but outside of anal rape for infants crossing the border it can’t be worse. -biden

environment-one issue I’m a staunch liberal on- Biden

guns-one issue that I’m a staunch conservative on -trump

wild card-mental stability- I am worried about Biden’s mental health. Need more info though. Trump is a pathological liar-draw

so 4-3 Biden EXCEPT that trump takes 2 of the top 3 most important to me.

I have a similar analogy.

It's not going to matter who I vote for, living in SC. So, I've relegated to sitting-out any future presidential elections as long as I live in SC. The last time SC went with a "non-conservative" was 1976. And, that was when the candidate was the openly-Christian governor of Georgia. For all intents and purposes, it was a different planet in 1976.

Living in NC is a little different. Your vote for president might count.

This is basically how I think voting should work, except leave off the names. Have the candidate's position on about 9 issues on the ballot. Pick A or B for each issue. Whoever has the most picks, wins that voter's vote. It forces people to learn about the candidate and it keeps the uninformed vote count lower.

Yeah... but, that would actually work and cut the parties out of their whole scam!
