OT: Mayweather vs. Pacquiao - Who wins?

I don't think folks on here will mind this non-basketball related topic for a few days. This fight is huge and the money it's going to generate is just astronomical.

Easy fight to call IMHO. I'm going with Money. Look for him to take control early and cruise. Maybe even a late round stoppage.
 
I think Pacman has slipped a little bit n the last couple years but see no slippage in Mayweather, would like to see Pacman beat him but sure wouldn't bet on it.
 
I am going with Money Mayweather!!! My wife is Filipino....It's going to be a long night if Pac Man wins!!! ;)
 
Mayweather is gonna take too many punches, and Pacquiao will knock him out in the 6th round. Mayweather has stated if he loses he gets a rematch.... So its an easy way for him to get another huge payday!!

Pac has lost much of that big right hand, and he takes a lot of punches. Mayweather is a straight jab machine and lands about 60% of those suckers with effect. I don't think either can knock the other out unless a lucky shot lands. It galls me to say, but IMO it goes the distance and Mayweather wins on points.
 
I am gonna say Mayweather wins on the eye test but Pac gets the judges' nod (boxing may be only sport where officiating is more questionable than college basketball). Controversy reigns and they get another HUGE pay day.

I would love to see Pac Man knock his @$$ out, but it’s not gonna happen.

Mayweather is the better technical fighter. He’ll dance and jab throughout the fight. I don’t see him actually hurting Pacquiao, but each time he lands one of those weak jabs he’s scoring points with the judges.

If I could be 100% guaranteed no shady stuff is going on, I’d be pouring money in on Money. But with the whole guaranteed rematch clause (with a loss), and the fact that boxing judging is shadier than basketball officiating, I’m not as confident. I could see Mayweather throwing the fight in order to get close to another $180M payday next year in the rematch, or the judges rigging it so that there’s one more marquee fight next year (the rematch) before boxing officially goes the way of the disco – and no one watches a fight again.

Yeah, the rematch things is interesting but Mayweather is way too full of pride for that. He is one of the most enjoyable boxers to watch in the ring. He just dominates the art beautifully. He won't lose.
 
No amount of money could cause Mayweather to intentionally lose. His record is his legacy, he's been undefeated for so long that it is what he fears most. I like his style though and his technique is just on another level. Manny is smaller than he used to be, does not carry the same power. Only way it is close is if Manny can win those 50:50 rounds that Mayweather usually takes with his superior accuracy. Manny not only have to press the action, he will have to land a lot more shots than others have.
 
Hope Pacman beats him, KOs him, but will be surprised it he does.Can't stand Mayweather. Wish he would go fight in MMA where his run run jab jab style wouldn't work.
 
Just like Kensucky! Everybody thought no way they would lose! Most up here (and all the so call experts) think no way "May" will lose. JUST WATCH. I actually called it with UK.. I saw near misses all year to mediocre teams in the SEC! And when "sucky" finally played a REAL team(Wisc) they got shown the damn door!!

Pac will finally show that no good big mouth May the door .. or the Mat! Plus with "JC" in his corner he can move mountains!!!! Pac has a burning desire to win for his country and faith! THAT'S POWERFUL!! Just like most of you up here said KW was going to UVA! (LMAO) ..you'll be wrong again about "May" - and then tomorrow you'll have some excuse!

Won't even be that close. PACMAN humiliates that big mouth bum, and maybe just maybe, the good guys will win FOR ONCE! Kick his ass tonight PAC .. and shut his big mouth up!!!

As many know about me, I don't gamble but I sure shoulda bet some of you folks that picked Pacman to beat mayweather. Not sure it would actually been gambling but more taking money from a baby. I am not a fan of Floyd $$$, would have LOVED to have seen Floyd laid out, knew that wasn't gonna happen.

3-4 years ago this may have actually been a good fight but manny has slipped a bit in his ability to take guys out with power, Floyd has not slipped in his ability to defend getting hit with power. I really do not like Mayweather, I see him as a world class JERK but he is pound for pound the best fighting jerk in the world...And today, one of the richest jerks in the world to...
 
From what I have heard it went about like I thought it would..... Mayweather fighting "not to lose" and boring. No way I would have dropped even $30 on that fight.

I have read quite a few tweets etc. of folks saying this fight finished boxing for them. Also a good many saying this fight's big winner was the UFC and MMA in general.

Very good fight. Liked both guys last night. However, Mayweather was back peddling all night long. Manny was the aggressor. Floyd was more accurate. However, Manny landed some big shots. Finally from here, Manny said after the fight that he was fighting basically one-handed after the 3rd round. If true, who knows?

I get it, but at the same time look at boxers like Ali.

Floyd said it best when a reporter grilled him on this very subject. Floyd said if you had a son who wanted to learn how to box, what style would you want him to emulate? That's an easy answer. I'd want my son to fight like Floyd. Hit, but don't get hit.

CarolinaBlue 1982 - you hit the nail on the head. I like both fighters but to say Mayweather ran all night is complete BS. I understand many don't like him so what happen when you don't like a person our minds tends to play tricks on us.
Mayweather is a Boxer and Manny is a Fighter. Two difference styles. Mayweather is more technical where as Manny is a straight head coming with all I got style. This is the first time I ever witness Manny not being so aggressive and when he tried, then Mayweather was hitting him with that Jab. Which seem to taken Manny out of his game plan to get in and throw punches hoping for a slugging match. Wrong. Mayweather actually stood in front of Manny just about the entire fight but with the reach advantage and Mayweather speed it was something that Manny couldn't overcome. Which is way if you look at the number is hit Manny connected with like 81 to Mayweather 148 big differences.
Again, it's crazy how many are upset and calling the fight boring but truth be told if Any go back and listen to Roy Jones Jr explain why it would be hard to beat Mayweather then someone in Manny counter got caught sleeping at the wheel. Jones stated in several interview that the Manny straight ahead style will not work, because Mayweather is more of defensive boxer that he will stick to his style no matter what.
It's crazy to think from many Manny fans and May hater that he would change his style to suit Manny. Well I guess Freddie Roache isn't such a smart guy as he thought because if he watch Mayweather previous fights he would have know this and work on a counter offense for Mayweather's defense.

This^^^^^ To say he ran is complete BS!!!! This is boxing not a street fight!!! Some people just don't just don't know sh@t about boxing!!!

People watch too many Rocky movies and think boxing is about beating the other guy till he cant open his eyes. Its a sport not a street fight. Ali and Tyson just wish they wouldve realized sooner that defense first is what prolongs your career. Floyd is older than Kobe Bryant and Tom Brady yet he looked like he was in the middle of his prime the other night
 
And for the record he landed more total punches and power punches than Manny so if he was "running" he must have had a really tiring night

Boxing isn't going anywhere. Not much you can do to hurt it. Not much you can do to help it. UFC's top guy is a cokehead and all the top UFC talent combined don't make what Mayweather made in 36 minutes.

Not just the UFC, MMA in general. I cannot watch boxing anymore, it is far too limited. Two hands, all above the belt (no leg work). In MMA you can use hands, elbows, feet, knees, takedowns, grappling, chokes, joint submissions and more. When I try to watch boxing with a few exceptions here and there I usualIy get bored and switch channels.

Mayweather is boring and a batterer of females.
