An SEC game that reflects on us: Ole Miss is beating the total crap out of Georgia in Athens.

Really UNC should just play those games on the road...Its a road game anyway because we have more fans show up for the Bball team when they play somewhere like that than football fans..

No kidding. UGA was #12 which was way too high. UGA is a poser team. I live near enough to Athens and know a lot of UGA fans. They were great 36 years ago, when they won the national title. But, they think they're Bama or Ohio State in Football royalty. They're not even close. I can think of 3 or 4 other SEC teams that have stronger legacies.
What a game for the Heels, and kind of surprised at myself, but I was rooting for Duke. Glad they won actually. Helps us in the bowl situation if Notre Dame is ranked lower than us. Hope that remains the case, and helps the coastal reputation to win.
While I can NEVER pull for dook basketball, there are 2 occasions where I can pull for dook football. One of those was today (or any other time they play the golden domers), and the other is if it were to benefit the Heels in the Coastal race or the bowl picture.
ACC football has definitely improved in football ... fun games to watch.
ACC went 8-0 in non-conference games this week, with 2 of those wins coming against Power 5 teams and only 1 win coming against an FCS team.
Next week's game between #3 Louisville and #5 Clemson in going to be great for the ACC. Top-5 match up televised nationally on ABC in prime time (8:00 pm).
Great weekend for the conference! Way to represent. Can't wait for the UNC/FSU and Clemson/Louisville games.
Phil Steele in his pre-season analysis of conference ranking said the SEC would be the best and the ACC would be #2.
Did anybody catch his post-game comments? He was asked about the defensive coaching and leadership in the dook game. Here was his response:
“Actually that’s probably the one area that I feel better about today. We did what I wanted today in terms of coaching, and coaching had nothing to do with the outcome today. I was pleased from that perspective.”

he has just fired DC Brian VanGorder , so maybe saying he was pleased with the coaching was an exaggeration..

Good question. You can bet that ND boosters are very unhappy losing to Dook. They can take 8-4 teams if they don't lose to nobodies.
Cutliffe got fired at Ole Miss because when the boosters demanded he fire coordinators for not getting the job done, he said NO. So the boosters demanded the AD fire Cut.
My guess is that major ND boosters informed Swarbrick that either a coordinator or two go now or Kelly goes.
Maybe VanGorder can come coach FSU's D because we need some serious help ... and I agree with the other comments about ND's Kelly ... he is a prick
Brian Kelly is one of the biggest jackasses in college or NFL football, and that is saying something.
He's rubbed a number of people the wrong way. And that's the reason I think he could get fired after this season. He is Swarbrick's baby, and that's why Swarbrick wants him to get things right. But Swarbrick knows that when the boosters turn on the coach, the AD either goes along and perhaps gets fired too.
Wish you guys beat UGA.. would have made for two big games in the ACC this week.
What the conferees has need for a decade is a couple ranked teams in the Coastal..It creates a lot of interest in the divisional games and drama for the regular season.. BTW, whats up with your crowd yesterday? Looked like you had way more for your G5 home opener.

I think the Coastal is coming along ... UNC, PITT are improving pretty fast. Then you give VT & UM a couple of years to get some recruits ... it will be a war over there on a weekly basis. GT will field a very good team every few years ... Duke has improved with recruiting. I would love to see a 4th team on the Atlantic side come up but Im not sure its going to happen so it might be the big 3 for a long time. Overall the direction and quality of the ACC is definitely trending up.
Right now, Clemson, FSU, and Louisville are so loaded it's hard for any other Atlantic team to show a whole lot. But Wake is definitely back to bowl worthy. I think Babers will have a high powered offense at Cuse at least by Year 3. And never forget that Les Miles is creaming his jeans to coach the mighty Wufs
