The right thing was to make the move in time for Bryant to decide what to do. Never trap a player - it will hurt recruiting down the road.
Dabo is not Fedora. Dabo will play the 2nd team QB every game, perhaps even close to half the series. Bryant chose not to share as the #2. If you are a coach focused on more than this year and the career of one player, that is not what you prefer, not what you reward.
Dabo sent the right messages both to the current players and to those Clemson is and will be recruiting.
Clemson's former 3rd team QB got no practice with the 1st team, until this week, when Bryant left. So he is brand new not merely as a RS FR playing but to even practicing with 1st team players. And yet he is more than ready to go.
When he finally gets a lot of practice time with the 1st team and the rest with the 2nd team, and some more game time, Brice may well prove to be a better all around QB than Kelly Bryant. And I mean this year, not when he is a SR.
