It has widely been reported that Brice is the first UNC player to record a 30/20 game.
However, it appears that Billy Cunningham had 48/25 vs. Tulane on 12/10/64 and
that Mitch Kupchak had 30/20 on 2/14/76. Some have mentioned that Lenny
Rosenbluth did it twice in 1956. In the link attached, it shows Cunningham's game
if you look under most points and then scroll down to most rebounds. I can't find
verification of the others. Can you?

thanks. i thought there had to be somebody that had to have hit those watermarks in our history before.

IIRC, I think the announcers were saying it was the first Tar Heel player to hit 30/20 that they had witnessed; I assume they mean during the ESPN era ?

I think ESPN first reported that it was the first time that any UNC player had gone
30/20 and then it was in several newspaper articles. Not to take anything away
from Brice, as he had a great game, but there are other great Tar Heels that
should not be snubbed. Yeah, maybe they were meaning in the ESPN era,
I don't know.

8 games in UNC history with 2 thirty point scorers. Bob Lewis was 1 of the 2 in 5 of the 8 and Billy C in 3. Last before Monday was vs. GT in '98 Shammond 42 and Jamison 31. also courtesy of @RL_Bynum. My H.S. basketball coach said he saw Bobby Lewis dunk a ball with each hand on one leap at a barnstorming event.

All I know is that was one hell of an effort, he dunked 'quickly' a couple times down low to make sure he got it down. Brice played a game for the ages and that's what matters, my hats off to all the others players that had similar efforts.

Not sure if I can remember a guy who dunks as quickly as Brice. Game at Cuse will show a lot about his maturing as a player. can he come out and play to his season averages after reading about those monster numbers all week
